Day 5: Immediate stabilization in action.
One side of the first pond's shoreline is already fully filled, and you can see the impact right away: once the fill is washed into the SOXPRO system, the bank is immediately stabilized - locking in structure and setting the shoreline up for long-term resilience.

So far, the SOX Erosion Solutions & The Lake Doctors teams have completed 300 linear feet of the 1,400 LF Phase I installation; progress you can literally see taking shape along the water’s edge.

Next step: vegetation. This system is designed to be finished with strong shoreline vegetation, and for this site we’ll be using sod, allowing roots to grow through the mesh and further reinforce the slope over time.

With the shoreline framework now in place, the focus shifts to fill material and system readiness - a critical phase in SOXPRO’s 5 Part Installation System. SOXPRO is engineered to retain any fill material greater than 150 microns, giving projects the flexibility to use locally sourced soils while maintaining structural integrity and long term performance. Once integrated, this fill becomes the physical and biological backbone of the system.

At the staging area, organic fill is stockpiled alongside SOXPRO’s formulated active agent, with EvoGuard™ perimeter control maintaining full sediment containment throughout the process. The active agent is what distinguishes SOXPRO from traditional shoreline stabilization systems - it is specifically formulated to bind phosphorus and nitrogen, supporting nutrient capture as water moves through the stabilized shoreline.

Along the pond edge, fill is staged in preparation for Step 4 of the 5 Part System: washing the fill into the knitted mesh structure. This step allows the material to fully settle within the anchoring and mesh framework, conforming to the shoreline and setting the stage for vegetation, stability, and water quality performance.

This work is part of SOXPRO’s 2026 scientific validation initiative with Florida Atlantic University Harbor Branch. The data generated will support submission to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and advance SOXPRO’s pathway toward Appendix O under the Clean Waterways Stormwater Rule.

SOXPRO is a bioengineered shoreline and water quality system developed by SOX Erosion Solutions and SePRO Corporation to meet the growing demands of Florida’s stormwater and restoration challenges. Built on a proven shoreline stabilization platform, SOXPRO integrates a nutrient binding aggregate into the system to help capture phosphorus and nitrogen, reducing nutrient pollution before it enters surrounding waterways.

As water moves through the system, nutrients are bound within the fill matrix, supporting cleaner water, healthier aquatic conditions, and long term ecological balance, all while delivering immediate erosion control and a naturally vegetated shoreline aesthetic.

SOXPRO is actively undergoing scientific validation in partnership with Florida Atlantic University Harbor Branch, advancing the rigor needed to measure environmental performance under real world conditions. These studies will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, supporting the pathway toward inclusion on the Water Management District’s Appendix O under the Clean Waterways Stormwater Rule.

This designation would position SOXPRO as a recognized, approved solution for stormwater and restoration projects statewide, opening access to larger markets and reinforcing SOXPRO’s commitment to science driven innovation and environmental leadership.

SOXPRO scientific validation is officially underway at Florida Atlantic University and installation partners, SOX & Lake Doctor’s, are on site. Today we prepped the staging area - the launch point for upcoming installation along two campus ponds
