A new addition joined our farm! Meet Rex, him and his mom, River, are doing great! He’s drinking milk like a champ and she’s a great mom. Always great to see in a first time mom.

The ladies are loving all the fresh green grass this time of year. Makes for super delicious nutrient dense eggs! Pasture raised is the way to be!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Particularly our very own Lili, she is an amazing mom who takes the very best care of us all! Pictured here with a stalk of our ‘Allport’ rhubarb we started from seed. It definitely has lived up to its description for being a huge variety of rhubarb. We made it into a delicious rhubarb compote for our Mother’s Day brunch. Check out the Experimental Farm Network seed store if you’d like to grow some of your own!

One of the many amazing things about haskaps is how early they start to produce. Eating our first berries of the year from our food forest on May 8th is pretty freaking cool!

The love of eating blackberry seems to be built into what it means to be a goat. Love it.

In yesterday’s video we showed you Nia. Today we introduce you to her sister Maraly. You can hear Nia in the barn complaining very loudly that her sister got to go out and not her. Don’t worry she will be next!

A big day on the farm! We picked up our first two purebred Kiko goat doelings from Stony Mountain Ranch. They are the very beginning of our future breeding herd and we couldn’t be more excited to add them to our farm. Welcome Maraly and Nia to your new home!

April 5, 2022 vs. April 5, 2026. Same spot in the food forest.

4 years of moving chickens through here, building swales, planting natives, putting in hugel beds. Most of the fertility comes from the chickens. 2 photos that show what animals and management can do for soil.
