When a peaceful morning turns to chaos 🥴🫠

In the process of recording Groot in all of his majesticness... the chickens were attacked with me standing only 5 feet away!! Crazy. I'm not sure where the hawk flew off to but hopefully it doesn't come back 😆

If you look closely you can kind of see the chaos and then it flying away as I lose my mind 😅

*No hawks or chickens were harmed

Y'all... We started with 6 chickens. SIX. 😂🐔

My mom is a preschool teacher, and every year her class hatches chicks as part of their classroom project.

And every year when the project is over… guess who somehow ends up with the chickens? 🙋🏼‍♀️

But honestly, I'm not complaining 🙃

Sometimes you have to look back to realize just how far you’ve come. ❤️

The first picture is where Seek First Outdoors started on YouTube — 13 subscribers and 1 video.

The second is today — 1.41K subscribers and 125 videos. 🥹

And while those numbers may not seem huge to some people, they mean a whole lot to us.

This journey has been anything but easy. There have been late nights, long days, videos that took forever to make, videos that didn't do nearly as well as we hoped, moments of discouragement, learning things the hard way, and plenty of times we've wondered if all the work was actually going anywhere.

Growth has been slow. Sometimes painfully slow. 😂

But we kept going.

And somewhere along the way, 13 people turned into more than 1,400. One video turned into 125. And this little idea became something our whole family gets to be a part of.

More than anything, we're just grateful.

Grateful for every person who has watched a video, subscribed, shared something, left an encouraging comment, or simply believed in what we're trying to build. And grateful to God for allowing us to keep doing something we love while making memories together along the way.

We're nowhere near where we hope to be someday, but today we're thankful for where we are.

“Do not despise these small beginnings.” — Zechariah 4:10

Here's to remembering where you started, being thankful for how far you've come, and trusting God with wherever the road leads next. ❤️

Happy Birthday to the man behind so many of our adventures. ❤️

Today we get to celebrate Jeremy Carnes 🫶🏼

The one who is always coming up with somewhere to go, something to do, something to hunt, something to fish, or some reason we apparently need another piece of outdoor gear. 😂

But more importantly, he’s the husband and dad at the center of so many of the memories you see shared here.

He works hard for our family. He loves his kids fiercely. He teaches them, takes them along, shows them how to do things, and is building a childhood for them filled with muddy boots, campfires, woods, laughter, faith, and time spent together.

Life with him isn't always quiet or boring—and I wouldn't want it to be.

I'm thankful for the adventures we've already had, the family we've built, and all the memories still ahead of us.

God has blessed our family in so many ways, and today we're especially thankful for you.

Happy Birthday Hun/Daddy/Jeremy. ❤️

These are the moments. 🫶🏼

Nothing fancy. A tent in the woods. A fire burning. And a dog.

But somehow, these are the days I know we’ll miss.

We spend so much of life rushing from one thing to the next that it’s easy to forget how much goodness can be found in simply slowing down and being together.

No perfect plans. No perfect setup. Just our family, God’s creation, and a little time away from all the noise.

I hope our kids grow up remembering moments like these. Not because of where we went or what we had, but because we were together.

"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. 🙌🏻
