The Shorthorn Story: A Milestone in Livestock Breeding🐂

The Shorthorn breed originated in northeastern England and became one of the most influential cattle breeds in history. In 1822, breeders established one of the world's first official herd books, creating a reliable system for recording pedigrees and improving breeding quality. This milestone helped standardize cattle breeding and inspired similar registries around the world. Thanks to their excellent beef quality, strong maternal traits, and adaptability, Shorthorns spread globally and played a major role in developing many modern beef and dual-purpose cattle breeds.🐂🤠

Red, White, and Sew🧵🪡... one of our Summer Day Camp Series starting June 1. This is a great opportunity for 4-Hers to learn how to sew while giving back through the donation of the quilt to a local veteran through the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
There will be one or two small projects the youth get to take home; however, the focus is learning skills and giving back!
This is a 4-week series, from 9a-12p on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 1-24. However, if your youth is unable to attend all days, that is okay, we want as many 4-Hers contributing to this quilt as possible. Call 662-286-7756 if you have any questions or to register. Deadline is Friday, May 22.
