We got married here, in our sunflower field that we planted with our hands. The squirrels took the seeds and buried them everywhere -- we’re surrounded by rogue sunflowers. A daily reminder of love in the most chaotic way. Nothing could better describe us. We started this venture on a whim. A dream of ours has always been to live out in the woods in Maine. When Covid hit, our jobs paused and, in
an effort to not murder each other, we tried out hobbies. That, coupled with food shortages where we were living, lead to gardening— a new passion. A few more months in, we found this place for sale and made the move to Maine. A journey of discovery, renovation and revival. For our fields, home and our souls. We were commercial theater artists, and burn-out in the entertainment industry is no joke. This venture is still developing, we’re exploring long-term options— farming, art, entertaining and woodworking. All while trying to be responsible stewards of the land we’re on. A farm stand will open to the public sooner than later, for fresh cut flowers and affordable veggies. The rest is open-ended— follow along to be a part of our journey. We’re learning as we go and we are far from perfect. There will be successes, failures and plenty of funny little blunders. Come along with us— we are a safe space. A great playwright once wrote and it rings so true in all that we do “ we have found a life worth living and we must share it.”
