Meet the Blacksmiths!!

Meet Jason Carroll — Blacksmith & Farrier at Historic Roscoe Village! 🔨🐴

Jason has always been drawn to the ring of an anvil. After graduating with a 4.0 GPA in Farrier Sciences from Hocking College, he has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life for equine friends while keeping traditional metalworking skills alive.

With a background in art history, drafting, and architecture from Kent State, Jason brings incredible precision and design to every piece he crafts at the forge. He’s also a passionate educator who loves sharing the trade with FFA and 4-H youth across the region!

✨ HISTORIC EVENT ALERT ✨
On Saturday, October 17 during the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival, Jason will be shoeing a horse live in front of the blacksmith shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — the first time a horse has been shod at that location since the early 1970s!

Stop by the Village Smithy to say hello, watch history in the making, and see Jason in action! ⚒️✨
