Happy Saturday and Mother’s Day weekend everyone! It’s been awhile since I made a post here, but we’ve done a thing and the cat is already out of the bag just 5 days in, so we might as well make the official update. We had hoped to announce when we had a more solid timeline.

BUT…

BABS is reopening and moving to Corning! We are currently cleaning the building, prepping for remodel, and have no solid opening date other than “a couple months”.

Our new location is at 1522 Solano Street.

What to expect:
All of our classic Cajun, southern, and soul food items you loved before PLUS some new additions!

River Fest 2025 has come to a close, but what a great day of family fun on what turned out ro be a beautiful day! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed it with us. We hope you had an amazing time!

Thank you to Cody Strock Red Bluff Councilman for sponsoring the free swim day, watermelon contest, water balloons, and free waters.

He basically paid for everything for your enjoyment and we just helped organize! 🙂

Thank you to the Red Bluff Junior Giants for the donation of 120 whiffle bats that were given out to the kiddos.

Thank to CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit/ Tehama County Fire Department for bringing out a truck for the kids to practice their hosing skills with.

Thank you to our food vendors who served up some delicious goodies today! Tropical Temptations, Mellow Yellow Lemonade, Tacos Corona Vega, & The Bubbly Barn.

And of course to our lovely vendors sharing their wares.

Good morning everyone!

First I want to apologize for the delay in posting a Bayou on The Bluff ~ Summer Festival update. I ended up getting ill this weekend. So after cleaning up the grounds on Sunday & Monday I really needed a day of rest!

We had an amazing turn out and an overall great event. I’m super proud of how everything came together and what was accomplished. Thank you to everyone who made it happen! This was our first year of this event and using this venue and we experienced enough hiccups in the week leading up to and morning of to cover the next 3 years. 😅 We had some extenuating circumstances beyond our control that snowballed and resulted in our staff being spread too thin. This in turn put the BABS kitchen behind and caused a major confusion and delays in the cafeteria/crawfish/water lines.

There is no one more dissappointed than me, that certain aspects of our event did not go 100% as planned. We apologize to anyone who had less than a stellar experience. This is not the norm for our events/food service. We learned a lot from this experience and before we even left the event, we were already talking about what to change for next year! I really appreciate the patience and grace displayed throughout our event.

I’m so thankful to everyone who came despite the heat…and to everyone who stayed despite the hiccups. We look forward to next year!

We need to address some awards issues as we ran late on that and many had already left. Thank you to the car show, wagon parade, bayou decorating participants, we are so sorry we didn’t get your awards the day of but we will make sure you get them! I’ll be emailing all of you to arrange pick/up delivery. 🙂

Today is the DAY! Bayou on The Bluff is HERE! Join us from 11:00 - 5:00! A few last minute updates:

🎟️ FREE admission & parking. No ticket needed, just come hungry and ready to get down Bayou Style.
🦞 Crawfish will be served starting at 12:30 due to carrier delivery times. Come see us inside the cafeteria building at the Crawfish Corner. Bucket O’ Crawfish is SOLD OUT!
💵 If you purchased a ticket prior to us changing to free admission, make sure and bring your ticket to redeem for food/drink credits at BABS Southern Bistro inside the cafeteria.
🍳 Breakfast is available from 8:30-10:00 or until sold out in the cafeteria.
🚘 Car Show registration starts at 9:30 at the information booth.
🌽Co****le registration starts at 10:00 in the Tyler Jelly Building.
🐊 Alligator meet & greet 11-2 in the auditorium.
🅿️ Parking is now available in the front lot, inside the gate, and in the Trinity Lot.

We are so happy to welcome Serene Ranch and California Dance Company to Bayou on The Bluff ~ Summer Festival !

Bring the kiddos to the enjoy some horse riding under a nice big shade tree near the outdoor stage! Check them out to find out about summer camp programs, riding lessons, and more. They’ll be offering rides starting at 11:00.

On the indoor stage (Bayou Room) California Dance Company will be performing both floor dances and aerial silk routines from 3:00 - 5:00. Two locations ~ Anderson & Redding and a ton of summer classes available to keep the kiddos occupied!

We’re gearing up for Saturday’s Bayou on The Bluff ~ Summer Festival and can’t wait! We do have a minor adjustment to announce. Many of you have contacted us regarding the carnival rides in the parking lot of the fairgrounds. You’ve had concerns about parking, asking if our event was cancelled and that is taking our place, and wondering if the carnival is part of our event.

Our event is 100% not cancelled.
The carnival is 100% not part of our event.

According to the venue, the carnival was just approved for parking there for a layover…but the layover “got extended” and it was decided to set up a pop up carnival right in front of our event. Many of you have had questions about the last minute carnival addition this weekend and unfortunately I can’t answer any questions regarding them or their operations. I apologize for any confusion this has caused and appreciate our followers for tagging me in the posts and sharing to our page to make me aware of the situation.

This does directly impact the parking situation for our event and sadly, there is nothing we can do about it. We will have the gates by the ticket booth open for parking near our buildings and pretty much anywhere you can find a spot to park inside the gates. There will be a barricade directly in front of our buildings that is reserved for car show overflow. We will have signage now as well to direct people back to our event which is located in the auditorium/cafeteria, Tyler Jelly Building, and the lawn begind the buildings.

The front lot and back lots of the fairgrounds will be open as well. The carnival does not start until 2:00, so I suggest you get there early for the best parking.
