A little Saturday thought from Drafty Farms ❤️
One of my favorite things about summer is fair season here in Maine.

The horses start arriving at the fairgrounds, trailers roll in, and we get the chance to reconnect with people we may only see once or twice a year. It's funny how some friendships pick right back up where they left off, no matter how much time has passed. Those fairgrounds become a place filled with familiar faces, stories, laughter, and memories.

While we're not loading up horses ourselves these days, we sure do enjoy cheering on our friends who are. Watching them do what they love and seeing all the hard work they've put in is something we look forward to every year.

Today is the first day we'll get to see some pretty special people, and I couldn't be more excited.

Life gets busy. There are chores to do, work to finish, and always one more thing on the list. But make sure you take the time to do the things you love with the people you love. The laundry can wait. The dishes will still be there. The moments won't.

So here's your little reminder today: go make the memories, watch the horse show or horse pulls, visit with old friends, grab a fair treat, and soak up every bit of summer.

These are the days we'll be talking about when winter rolls around. ❤️ Enjoy life. It goes by way too fast. ☀️🐴🌻

✨ Wonder... ✨
We all do it.
As a mom, I wonder if I'm doing it right. If I've said enough, taught enough, loved enough. Am I "present" enough every day, am I cheering loud enough in a crowd or to them in the quiet moments? What is enough? I think most parents carry those thoughts from time to time.
And then there are the other little wonders that sneak in.
When someone pulls into my farmstand, Barn Side do they leave with a smile? Are they excited to see what next week's treats might be? Did they enjoy that cookie, that pie, or that little something sweet that brightened their day?
And what about the Littles? Did Hank, Gizmo, Snickers, Pepper, and the rest fill their hearts even a fraction as much as they fill mine? Did they leave feeling just a little lighter than when they arrived?
The funny thing about wonder is that we rarely know the answers. We fill in the blanks with our own thoughts and worries, when the truth is often much kinder.
Maybe that family is talking about their favorite treat on the ride home. Maybe a child is still smiling about meeting the Littles. Maybe someone had a rough day and a stop at the stand was exactly what they needed.
We'll probably never know all the ways we touch other people's lives.
So maybe the goal isn't to stop wondering. Maybe it's to remember that not every unanswered question needs an answer.
Sometimes it's enough to simply keep showing up, sharing a little kindness, a few homemade treats, and a whole lot of heart—and trust that it's making a difference.
💛 Sometimes the best things we leave behind are the smiles we never get to see.

School is out and our summer just got even busier. Being a mom is my most important job - I have one chance of doing it right and I want to Nail It! . Does my world focus around my kids - you bet it does! My posts may slow down some this summer and that is not intentional, I'm busy, super busy. I wish you all a day filled with being enough and thank you all for allowing me to smile with your kindness from all over the world, all because of our amazing little herd of BIGs and littles in little 'ole Cornville, Maine. God Bless 🙏❤️✨️

Think about this... the only way to reach what's ahead is to stop turning around to see what's behind. Life isn't about carrying yesterday with you forever. It's about learning from it, setting your mind on what matters most, and taking the next step. One day you'll look back and realize that moving forward was the best decision you ever made. 🐴❤️. We just need to trust the journey and what comes next, stop the over thinking. I love this photo, one of the boys walking outta the barn a few years ago. I want to say it's Bob, but I'm not 100% sure.

😊 The best thing you can wear isn't found in a closet.
It's your smile.
It doesn't matter if you're dressed up, covered in farm dust, running late, or having one of those days where nothing seems to go right. A genuine smile has a way of brightening not only your day, but someone else's too.
Smiles are contagious, free, and never go out of style. They can lift spirits, start conversations, and remind people that kindness still exists in this world.
So today, wear your favorite smile. It looks good on you. ❤️

Happy Tuesday - Miss Maggie's smile is precious 😊 Hope you have an amazing day! #

We spend so much time chasing the next goal that we forget to appreciate the blessings already in front of us. Sometimes life reminds us to slow down, take a breath, and look around at the journey—not just the destination. Thirteen years ago, we built our home with a vision, a lot of hard work, and a dream. Every day since, we've continued to improve, grow, and build on that dream. The work is never really finished, and that's the beauty of it. Life isn't about rushing through the years; it's about savoring the process, appreciating the progress, and finding joy in watching your efforts turn into something meaningful. ❤️🏡✨ Ruby loves the pond!

Life gets a whole lot easier when you stop chasing the approval of people who wouldn't stand beside you when things get tough or if they can't benefit.
Protect your peace. Stay loyal to the people who love, support, and defend your family. Pay attention to actions, not words. The truth always has a way of finding its way back, and time has a funny way of revealing who is genuinely in your corner.
Keep your circle small, your standards high, and your heart focused on the people who deserve a seat at your table. ❤️

Sometimes the biggest fence we have to climb isn't on the farm — it's the one we build in our own minds.
We talk ourselves out of the dream before we ever give it a chance. We worry about failing, what people will think, whether we're good enough, or if it'll actually work. Meanwhile, the opportunities we want are sitting just on the other side of that self-doubt, waiting for us to take the first step.
Here at Drafty Farms, we've learned that growth doesn't happen by standing still. Every new goal, every new project, every new idea started with a simple decision: Let's try it. Not everything works out exactly as planned all the time, and that's okay. Every success, every lesson, and every blessing comes from being willing to take the chance and put in the time.
If you have a dream, chase it. If you have an idea, start it. If you have a goal, work toward it. Don't let fear write the ending before the story even begins.
And remember this: the people who truly support you will show up. They'll cheer for your wins, encourage you through the setbacks, and proudly shout your name from the rooftops when you succeed.
Believe in yourself. Take the leap. Follow your dreams. Just figure it out and make it happen.
You never know what kind of opportunity is waiting on the other side of faith, hard work, and a little courage. ❤️🌱🐴🎂🍪🫶

My children, my husband, my mom and dad, my handful of special friends, my animals, my farm, my farmstand, and sunsets are blessings to me and I am forever grateful 🙏 ✨️ Send me a photo of something that you are grateful for. Have a beautiful Thursday.

Happy Tuesday ☆
A Lesson From the Nest 🩵
Tucked away in a quiet corner sits this little nest, holding four beautiful blue eggs. At first glance, it doesn't seem like much is happening. No movement. No excitement. No sign of what's to come.
But that's the thing about growth—it often happens in the waiting.
On the farm, we're reminded of that every day. Seeds rest beneath the soil before they sprout. Chicks spend weeks inside their shells before they hatch. Fields need rain, sunshine, and time before they produce a harvest. Nothing worthwhile seems to happen overnight.
Life is much the same.
Sometimes we pray, work hard, and do all the right things, yet it feels like nothing is changing. We wonder if our dreams will ever come true, if our struggles will ever end, or if the pieces will ever fall into place.
But just because we can't see progress doesn't mean God isn't working.
These eggs don't know what they're becoming yet, but the process is already underway. In the same way, God is often working behind the scenes in our lives, preparing things we can't yet see. His timing rarely matches ours, but it is always worth trusting.
So if you're in a season of waiting, don't lose heart.
Keep your faith. Trust the process. Find the good in each day. Be thankful for the small blessings. And remember that some of the most beautiful things in life begin quietly, hidden from view, long before they bloom.
Just like this little nest, sometimes the greatest miracles are growing while we wait. 🩵🥚 This nest belongs to a Robin, and it was such a beautiful find, tucked away in a very safe place ✨️

Life isn't always found in the big moments.
Sometimes it's the first cup of coffee before the world wakes up. The sound of rain on a roof. A dog waiting at the door. A horse nickering when it sees you. Fresh bread cooling on the counter. Your children's laughter carried on the wind.
It's dirty boots, tired hands, and hearts that keep showing up.
Life is found in sunrises we almost miss and sunsets that stop us in our tracks. In the people we love, the lessons we learn, and the memories we create without even realizing they're becoming treasures.
There will be hard days. There will be seasons that test us. But even then, beauty finds a way to peek through the cracks.
Today, take a moment to notice it.
The wildflowers growing where they shouldn't. The animals that trust you. The kindness of a stranger. The blessing of one more day.
Life is imperfect, messy, and sometimes downright difficult—but it is also full of wonder, grace, and countless reasons to be grateful.
And that's a beautiful thing.
May your Monday be memorable and filled with glimmers ✨️❤️.
