Happy Monday from Wilma and our new addition, Winifred! Wilma has been looking like she’s been due to calve for about a week, and when Jeff went out to milk this morning he found Wilma and her new baby at the barn door to greet him! Winifred was on her feet, dried off, and following mom, definitely our favorite way to find a calf. Wilma came right in for milking but baby decided to hunker down in a patch of weeds to keep herself safe. With a little coaxing we reunited them in the barn to hang out together during milking ❤️

The cows are relaxing on the farm but we’re headed to Westport Farmers Market today and we are stocked up with raw milk, plain yogurt, beef, ricotta, and drinkable yogurt. Stop by from 10am-2pm for lots of local dairy goodness!

Stay tuned next week for flavored yogurt and hopefully a test batch of Calf & Clover kefir!🥛

Today’s to-do list:
• Make sure Butter’s face is still squishy as ever
• Get some of the best dairy in the state (….the country?? …the world???) to Westport Farmers Market
• Work on modesty

Seriously though make sure you stop by Westport Farmers Market from 10am-2pm for all the works, we’ll have raw milk, yogurt, drinkable yogurt, fresh ricotta, and beef!

Nutella and her daughter Nasturtium side by side in the milking barn. 🥹 Nasturtium was born two years ago and after nursing on Nutella for a few months was moved to another farm to enjoy her heifer-hood. Even after all that time apart, since Nasturtium returned to the farm a week ago she and her mother have been sitting in adjacent stalls during almost every milking. Whether it’s pure coincidence or that they actually recognize each other I don’t know for sure, but what I do know is it’s darn cute to witness every day!

Support this mother/daughter duo by coming to Westport Farmers Market tomorrow! We’ll have all the usuals: raw milk, fresh ricotta, plain and honey yogurt, drinkable yogurt, and beef. Plus it’s national farmers market week to boot, don’t miss out on what is IMHO the best farmers market in the state!

Even though Betty might be snoozing, don’t sleep on Westport Farmers Market today!! The cows have been working hard this week, even Betty, no matter the weather so come out and show them some love. The forecast has cleared up and we’ll be at the market as always with raw milk, regular and drinkable yogurt, fresh ricotta, and beef! Plus everything will be restocked in the farm store for the weekend so make sure to stop by 💛

Our latest little heifer calf, Butter, in the afternoon light. Our group of calves born this spring and summer are all growing nicely, 3 sweet little heifers with lovely personalities all out of great momma cows, an embarrassment of riches as far as dairy farming goes!

As always we will be at Westport Farmers Market today from 10-2 with our other dairy riches. Lots of raw milk, plain, honey, and vanilla yogurt, cultured butter, ricotta, and 4 flavors of drinkable yogurt! Can’t wait to see you there!
