A little Wattsburg Fair update from Breezy Sky’s Farm:

With fair week here, & the questions I have been getting, I wanted to share that we won’t be participating in the Wattsburg Fair this year.

It honestly feels a little strange even saying that. We’ve been a part of the fair for roughly the last 6 or so years, & it’s something I’ve genuinely enjoyed & looked forward to each year. We’ve made a lot of memories there, spent a lot of long days in the barns, & enjoyed being part of an event that brings so many local families & kids together. 💛

This year, the timing happens to fall while we’ll be away on our Alaskan cruise, so unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to participate regardless. 🛳️🏔️

I do want to be transparent, though, because I know some people may wonder if we’ll be returning in the future. Over the past year, I’ve made the decision to completely separate myself & Breezy Sky’s Farm from the individual currently overseeing the goat department & from their personal farm.

That decision has nothing to do with the Wattsburg Fair itself. It comes strictly from my own personal experiences & dealings with that individual & their farm. After a considerable amount of financial loss, heartache, trial & error, & lessons learned the hard way, I reached a point where I knew it was best for myself & my farm to step away from that relationship entirely.

I’m not putting this out there to bash anyone or create drama, & I don’t feel Facebook is the place to lay out every detail. But I also don’t want to be dishonest or pretend there isn’t more behind my decision. If anyone genuinely wants to know what happened or has questions about my experience, I’m more than willing to have that conversation privately. I have my own facts & documentation to support this decision. Again, this is not meant to publicly bash anyone.

As for the Wattsburg Fair itself, I have a lot of good memories from our years there, & I’m thankful for the experiences we’ve had. I’ll definitely miss being there this year! Especially seeing the kids, animals, familiar faces & all the craziness that comes along with fair week. 🐐💛

For this year, though, Breezy Sky’s Farm will be sitting this one out & enjoying a very different adventure in Alaska. 🏔️🛳️

We have had another productive few days here! 🥰🫣

2B was delivered to begin getting the floor ready for mats. We ended up needing another triaxle of that so while we waited, I wanted to see how much wood we had to build another large stall for Penelope. 🤪🤷🏼‍♀️

Well, turns out, I did not have enough so Kyle asked if I wanted to make a wood run. I of course wont turn that offer down! 😂🫡 We got enough wood to build 3 more stalls! 👏🏼

More of the flooring got done once the second load of 2B came & now all that is left is a small corner & to lay mats. All before we leave the end of the week for a MUCH NEEDED vacation. 😌

Thankful for our help always! We were supposed to put second cut square bales in the barn yesterday but the weather said otherwise. 🙃

Temporary stalls will be built for the remaining ones who need them & wood will be purchased next year to get them done! Next step, electric being wired & no more extension cords. 😬😅

Please, help me out & want some ... I can't keep up. 😅🤪 They lay so many daily & I don't eat many eggs, at all, ever. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This weekend was pretty successful for the barn! 😁

I did not have plans to get the remainder of the barn all done right away until I heard the cost of steel was rising. So I jumped on it & well, my hay loft was empty due to throwing 75% of it out .... 😒 What better time than now to get it all ready before this hay season! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you to ALL of our help yesterday & today: Shane Smith, Kyle DiLuzio, Andy Slaughenhaupt, Drew Smith, Leah Laska, Melissa Balzer, Alex DiLuzio, & Aaron! I greatly appreciate each of you working in the rain, the heat, the wind, all of the above. 🫶🏼

Each day this place is better & better. So excited for future endeavors to come. 🥰

Farm fresh eggs in full swing here! 🐥

Our chickens have been free ranging the farm for a few weeks collecting every nutrient out there & in return laying SO MANY eggs for us! 🥚💛

I currently collect roughly 50+ eggs daily. If anybody needs farm fresh butt nuggets, please reach out to me. 😉
