We have never seen our farm wake up so early. The peaches, almonds, plums, nectarines, pears, apricots, and ornamental quince are in full bloom.

While it's not unusual for peaches to start blooming by April 1st, reaching full bloom by mid-March is concerning. This situation lengthens the period during which a frost could potentially harm the crop. Additionally, having trees emerge from dormancy while the ground remains dry, temperatures are high, and irrigation is not yet running adds more stress to this early season, as these conditions add stress to the trees.

Get out there Montezuma County and water your plants even if you have to connect to the house water! The season has begun!

Agriculture & community is returning to our old beloved Let It Grow!

Today we learned the best news ever!

Some of you may remember that the roots of Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project were established when we (Jude & Addie) began our horticultural careers in 2001. Together we grew a retail nursery/cafe business and family of four beautiful girls, and along the way developed a love for community and its orchard heritage. In 2015, we closed the doors of our beloved Let it Grow Nursery and Garden Market so we could dedicate the time needed to work towards the mission of MORP.

Ever since, our entire family has missed our old "home". We have never stop dreaming that the place we put so much labor of love into would be a place of agriculture and community again.

Yes, today we saw the best news ever! The old LIG building is now home to the Four Corners Food Coalition!

They are SO excited to invite you to their new home! Join them March 22 for a day of community and celebration and help them bring their space to life. They'll have workshops, performances, music and food.

10am-3pm Dinè Fiber Arts Spin Off
11am-Noon Traditional Foods: Squash Braids
1-2pm: Medicine Making: Cough Syrup
3-4pm: Performance by Ayauh Cozamalotl
4-7pm: Music by DJ Beeso & Dinner
