2024 Exhibit information: Due to the bird flu no dairy cattle will be on-site. However the Shiawassee 4H Dairy Committee has been working on alternatives for our youth to still participate. Below are the guidelines for the Showmanship Exhibit for this year. If you need any help with photos please let me know! We have access to poster board as well.

Jenn will be at the farm on Wednesday night to do some photos around 6-630pm. Please feel free to swing by to get your pictures taken, pick up information and get your gallon of milk shirts. Reach out if you have any questions.

I am looking for one more 4H kid and an adult to help in the 4H food Stand on Sunday August 6th from 6:30 am until 11am.

Once I have a better idea of my schedule at the second job at the Dort Event Center I will get a meeting scheduled to get kids enrolled in 4H if they have not already done so. As well as to get entered into fair! This meeting will more than likely be at my home.

Anyone looking for a club to show Dairy (Swine, or exhibit barn items) are more than welcome to join us!

Fairbooks are now on our website. By May 1, the hard copies will be available in local libraries. We will not be mailing the books again this year. We have chosen to be online from now on with the fairbooks. With this decision it is faster to get to you option and you have it at your fingertips at all times.

Planning a 4H meeting on March 19th. More than likely at our home but not sure on the time yet. Please mark your calendars as we will work on 4H enrolling online, and Exploration Days sign up (so that you're prepared to do enrollment on the 21st). I am hoping to have a good idea at this time of who all will be active members and go thru last year's fair book to get ideas on what the kids would like to exhibit this coming year. Registration is open!
While other state 4-H programs have similar offerings, every March, Michigan 4-H hosts the most comprehensive test of livestock and traditional farm animals in the nation. This is an annual competition that tests both youth and adult competitors’ knowledge of market livestock, animal science, and management practices in 10 separate categories. Qualifier dates are March 4 and 11, 2023. The Skillathon is open to Michigan youth (8-19 years old as of Jan. 1, 2023) and adults.

Save the date!!! I will be ordering tickets for our club and anyone interested in going! It is a LOT of fun and something we have been doing over 15 year now! The Girls will be playing against Penn State.

It's been a little bit since the page has been active and a lot has changed in the past 5 years.

During that time we lost both Ray and Thelma. Ray had 51 years as a 4H leader this year. I want to take a moment to thank them both for not only being my grandparents but being my 4H leaders when I was a kid and for helping me to become a leader and take over our club.

With that said! I am hoping to bring in new members this year! You do NOT have to show dairy to be in our club! There are lots of things available to exhibit in the Exhibit Barn. Please let me know if you're interested in joining as I'd like to have a meeting this winter to explore all the fair options and get to know everyone.

Is there anyone else available to work in the Food Booth!?! We see short a few people.

Was just informed that the number of required adults and youth are based on 4H Online enrollment and not who will actually be available at fair time. This is now causing an issue for our members as there is only 3 families here and not enough help.
