Nearly 200 kids from local elementary schools came out to the farm on field trips in May! We host some of the dual-immersion schools in our area and offer bilingual field trips where kids learn about bees and other pollinators, tour through our fields and the tropical greenhouse, meet the chickens, enjoy a honey tasting and vote for their favorite, all in Spanish.

We couldn’t do any of this without the support of the and are so grateful for the chance to connect with the community in this way. And another big thanks to our Oso field trip squad 🌱 .c.r.u.z and

Meadowfoam is almost at full bloom and the bees are WORKIN! This particular location is one of our favorite fields and the sweet scent in the air on a hot day is so so lovely 🤍

This planting was seeded a little earlier than others that’ll come on a bit later. But Meadowfoam pollination has officially begun, fingers crossed we pull off a good harvest this season.

Flashback to knighting “Queen of the bees” and a quick explanation of grafting process and cell builders.

We are in the middle of queen season with around a thousand mating nucs stocked with cells and taking advantage of this phenomenal spring weather.

If you’d like to meet Henry and hear more of the lore around selecting and raising PNW adapted queens, producing varietal honey and pollinating the diverse spectrum of Willamette Valley crops then come on down to the this Saturday April 11 from 8am to 1pm. We will have the observation hive and possibly a pocket full of drones for the adventurous to hold.
