Keene Creek Farm & Makery We value producing quality foods (beef & pork) and other handmade goods. Our small farm is located the Appalachian foothills of Coshocton County, Ohio.

All of my Button Blossom Pincushions are made with quality, 100% cotton fabric that you won’t find in big box stores. Each one is firmly stuffed with US made poly fill and is carefully paired with a vintage button from my button collection. After the blossom part is made, I stuff each one into an old zinc jar lid (with milk glass insert). This gives them some weight and stability.

Each pincushion is hand made by me -- Marissa -- in our 1906 farmhouse in the Appalachian foothills of Eastern Ohio. It is my hope that each one of these pincushions becomes an heirloom in families of sewers for generations.

Last summer I happened to stop into while my aunt was ordering new prints for her fabric shop. While I was there she picked out these *charming* pieces from and mentioned how cute they’d be paired with some embroidery patterns. The fabric arrived this summer and I immediately got busy designing some pretty basic embroidery patterns to go with them.

THEN — my aunt designed a quilt to tie them alllll together (pic coming soon).

This fall I’ll teach two classes (and will add more if needed) on these patterns. Class details: Saturday, October 15 and Saturday, November 12 (both from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mercantile on Main). Send me a DM if you’d like to join me!

This is made with original feedsack fabric — the white detail behind the flowers puts me in the mindset of little doilies. She’s a cutie, don’t you think?

*Twins Arrived Today**

Two of our cows were on different breeding cycles than the rest of the herd. The one who aborted her baby a few months ago and the momma who had *twin heifers* today. We knew she was getting close, but had no idea she was carrying two. Momma has them all cleaned up and their bellies were full. Rowdi found them like this in our little red shed.

Now, they just need names.
