Let’s be honest... 🌮😅

Every Tuesday, somebody is posting tacos and margaritas from happy hour, and every Tuesday, your wallet starts asking questions.

The good news? Taco Tuesday doesn’t have to mean spending $20-$30 every week. These homemade Mexican tacos bring all the flavor, save you money, and give you leftovers for later. Sometimes the best seat at happy hour is right at your own kitchen table.

Question for the taco lovers: Are you team soft shell or hard shell? 👀

And that’s a wrap on the May Meal Prep Challenge! 🎉 First, congratulations to our winner, , for showing consistency and making meal prep a priority throughout the challenge. Enjoy that grocery gift card—you earned it! 👏🏾

One thing this challenge proved is that meal prepping isn’t just for gym enthusiasts or people following strict diets. It’s for busy professionals, parents, travelers, foodies, and anyone who enjoys having good food available when life starts moving at full speed. A little planning can save money, reduce food waste, and make those “what am I eating tonight?” moments a lot less stressful.

To everyone who participated, shared meals, cheered others on, or simply became more intentional about cooking at home, thank you. The kitchen can be a place of creativity, comfort, and community when we give it a chance.

Now the big question: should we run another challenge this summer? If so, what should the theme be? Drop your ideas below and let’s see if we need to bring the challenge back for Round 2. 🍽️

Another submission coming through and the kitchen is active 🔥🍽️

Today’s feature: oxtail, rice & peas, and red cabbage—a plate that speaks for itself.

I love seeing everyone step up, get creative, and really put intention behind their meals. That’s what this challenge is all about—real food, real effort, and building better habits one plate at a time.

🍽️ MAY MEAL PREP CHALLENGE | May 1 – May 31, 2026 ☀️

The weather is changing, schedules get busier, and that usually means grabbing anything quick. This month, we’re changing that. There’s Food At Home 2020 is launching the May Meal Prep Challenge to help people eat better, save money, and get back comfortable in the kitchen.

🔥 How It Works:

✔️ Prep at least 1 homemade meal each week (4 total for the month)
✔️ Post your meal to your story/feed and tag the page
✔️ Follow There’s Food At Home 2020
✔️ Like this post + comment “I’m in” to enter

🎁 Incentive:

One consistent participant will win a $100 grocery gift card at the end of May. (Could be store of choice depending on location.)

💡 Why Join:

Because eating better doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re 25 or 55, single or feeding a family, this challenge is about building habits that actually last. Let’s make the kitchen active again this spring.

Tag a friend who says they “don’t have time to cook.” 👀

Spring is here, which means it’s officially refreshing drink at home season ☀️🍓🍋

Tried my hand at a simple Strawberry Lemonade and had to give a shoutout to Samira’s Kitchen for the inspiration and style—clean, easy, and full of flavor. This is your reminder that just like meals, your drinks don’t always need to come from outside… your kitchen can really do it all.

If you want to elevate it a bit without going overboard, try adding a splash of vodka or tequila—both keep it light calorie-wise while still letting the strawberry and lemon shine. It’s one of those recipes you can play with depending on your mood, your taste, or who you’re serving.

Don’t be afraid to experiment a little—that’s where the fun (and the best flavors) usually are.

You don’t need a new week, a new month, or a “starting Monday” speech…you can start today 😏🍽️

Mindful eating isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present. Slowing down, actually tasting your food, and realizing you’ve been full before you hit that “one more bite” out of habit. (Yeah…we’ve all been there 😂)

Try one of these habits today—not tomorrow—and see how you feel. Save this for later, share it with someone who needs the reminder, and come back to tell me what actually worked for you 👇🏾

Eat your colors… your body will thank you later 😌🍓🥦
Fruits and veggies might not always be the star of the plate, but they’re definitely doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes—packed with nutrients, boosting your energy, and helping you feel like a functioning adult again.

Whether you’re a full-on foodie or someone who side-eyes vegetables on a regular basis, start small and stay consistent. Your future self (and your immune system) will appreciate it.

👇🏽 Drop ONE fruit or vegetable you ate this week—no judgment, just progress.

Listen…breakfast doesn’t have to be boring 😏🍲

This chicken porridge? Warm, savory, filling—and actually keeps you full so you’re not looking for snacks 45 minutes later. Breakfast is where you set the tone for your day, so why not start with something that hits and fuels you right?

Be honest…are you team sweet breakfast or savory breakfast? 👀

Tonight’s dinner was one of those meals that deserved more than a 24-hour story. My mom came over, casually raided my kitchen like she owned the place, and somehow turned it into a full Sunday dinner spread. On the menu: steamed turkey chops, cabbage, and quinoa — proof that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor.

For those of us watching our calories or being mindful about what goes on our plate, meals like this remind you that balance is possible. Clean, simple ingredients, cooked with care, and still satisfying enough to make you go back for another bite… or two.

Moral of the story: when mom shows up and starts cooking, you let her take over the kitchen.
