~~ Meet Violet ~~
Violet is a six year-old AKC registered Australian cattle dog female. She is seeking a new loving home. Violet was part of our breeding program and produced beautiful babies for us- on site we have her daughter Jade, and her grandson Durrin. Violet is fully health tested, including OFA hips (good) OFA elbows (normal) BAER hearing test (full hearing) CAER eye exam (normal) and genetic testing. Violet is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
After we retired Violet from our breeding program and got her spayed, we placed her in a pet home with a friend, she has lived with him for the past year. While Violet enjoyed her city girl life, and being a couch potato, she gained a tremendous amount of weight due to the great food and lack of exercise. Friend has decided it is in her best interest to find Violet a new home where she will get the exercise that she needs.
Violet has been back home with us for about a month and has begun her diet and exercise routine. She still has about 8 pounds to lose, but is looking much, much better.
Violet is super loving and cuddly. She loves all people and craves physical touch. She will bark to alert new arrivals, but is easily called off. Her recall is always reliable.
Being born in January 2020, Violet was a Covid puppy and I didn’t get her out to socialize with stranger dogs as much as I would’ve liked, so Violet is very nervous about dogs that she doesn’t know. With proper introduction she gets along great with all the dogs that I’ve exposed her to, including my whole pack of cattle dogs. In the home she was in for the past year, she did have an altercation with a small dog that she didn’t know and Violet did not like that dog, I was not there so I cannot attest to the situation. And I do not have any small dogs to socialize her with, but she gets along perfectly well with our young cattle dog puppy at home. With that being said new potential home would need to be aware of her potential issues with strange dogs and/or with small dogs. I would be glad to help new potential home socialize Violet with any other dogs that would be living in the home.
Violet is house trained, potty trained crate trained, rides in the car well and walks on a leash well. She can do a few tricks as well.
While she is always welcome to stay here, I would like to find her a home where she will get more individual attention and interaction.
Send me a message if you are interested in adding Violet to your family.
She is currently located at my house in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Current pictures included as well as pictures in the past before she got fat.
