This year I am working on the soil in the orchard. I decided to start a wildflower meadow among the trees. Not bad for my first attempt with the hard clay soil. Had some friends that have been curious plus use my fruit trees as snacks and the ditch pond as their watering hole. Not sure you can see the single deer brought her wobbly twins out. I will cover with compost and cardboard for the winter and start again next Spring.

Bees are doing good!! We had to add another deep after 4 weeks!! Next is a super which will be our honey! Can't wait but...

Bees are doing good!! We had to add another deep after 4 weeks!! Next is a super which will be our honey! Can't wait but first they have 10 new frames to fill at least half way.

P.S. Yes he has been stung. I think 5 times now but won't wear the gloves!

We have been extremely busy on the farm. Picked 8.5 pounds of plums, pitted, and made jam. Got a peck of peaches pitted and made jam and for the homerun we got 2 gallons of strawberries which burnt so went and got 3 more gallons and made jam! We have alot of jam!

We decided to add some honey bees to the homestead! Hopefully they will help in the garden and orchard. Not sure if this was a good idea since I am allergic, but my P*P got me a new Epipen!! Working on a name for the hive.
