Thanks, Courtney Fedalen, for the gift of these two precious mamas!!
Cedar (the unicorn goat) is Maple's daughter (both mini Lamanchas), and I exposed them to my Nigerian Dwarf buck, Xavier, as soon as they arrived. Yesterday morning, I discovered that Cedar had delivered one healthy little doeling, whom we have named Bridget for the little white stripe across her nose, as well as two that didn't make it. (One was a mummified little thing no bigger than my hand, and the other was a beautiful full-term doeling with gopher ears that was either born stillborn or suffocated in its sack. I wish I'd found her sooner, as I think I might have been able to save her, but it just wasn't meant to be.)
I figured that Maple would be delivering super soon, but I had to go to work. When I got home this evening, I was pleased to find that she'd done a great job birthing and cleaning two sweet babies - one doeling and one buckling, both yet to be named.
Both Maple and Cedar are proving to be excellent mamas and calm milkers, and I couldn't be more thrilled!! πβ€οΈπ₯Ήπ€©π
