Life on the Farmstead is usually fun and full of joy and laughter, but sometimes there are days that are a bit darker and quiet. Saturday was one of those days for us, and for the first time, we had to put one of our girls down. 💔To some people, chickens are just a bird or farm animal. For us, they are pets, each with their own personality and unique character. They are not " just a chicken."They are never meant for food, but rather to take joy in raising them, bonding with them, and giving them the best life that we can. There is no shortage of treats or fluffy feathery snuggles around here! Rest in peace, baby girl, and thank you for the years of love, laughter and eggs. ♥️🐓💖😢🌼💗😔
