Guys. I'm OBSESSED. This amaranth is a great spinach alternative in terms of taste and texture, but has more nutritional density and holds up to cooking better! The red color is absolutely gorgeous. These will be coming to market in just a few weeks 😍

Maisie decided to FAFO with a rattlesnake today. She is home after a long vet visit, lots of meds and rest. Mikayla is on dog watch for the next 24 hours to make sure her airway doesn't close, but it's looking positive! Keep her in your thoughts over the next few days ❤️

Annual screen room deep clean is underway!
With all the heavy Sahara dust blowing in this year, our screens have taken a serious beating. Clearing that buildup out is an absolute must to keep the air flowing smoothly to our evaporative pads.
Caught Will being a little sweet while on power-washer duty and drawing a heart in the dust for me ❤️. Love a partner who helps with the chores and brings the romance!
Will is a tired boy y'all 😅

Clean Greens, Safe Tummies
Recent Cyclospora outbreaks mean grocery store lettuce can give you a fast pass to gastrointestinal distress. Nobody wants a salad that causes emergency dashes to the restroom.
At Vermillion Farms, we cut out the stomach bugs. Our vertical aeroponic towers are completely soil-free and use a clean, controlled water system. The parasites responsible for sudden bathroom panics simply have nowhere to live—no dirt, no contaminated runoff, and no digestive disasters.
Instead, you get pristine, chemical-free tomatoes, cucumbers, and living, root-attached greens and herbs that stay fresh and happy for two weeks.
Keep your digestion peaceful. Catch us this weekend at the Barton Creek, Wolf Ranch, and Mueller farmers markets!

Vertical Farm Update: The Socrates Seedless Cucumber
Taking a walk through the rows today and the Socrates cucumbers are looking incredible. These are a greenhouse favorite for a reason. They are a parthenocarpic variety which means they are completely seedless and do not require bees for pollination. That makes them perfect for our controlled environment.
We grow these using a vertical gravity fed aeroponic system. Instead of using high-pressure misters that can clog, we let nutrient-rich water flow down from the top of the towers. This trickles over the root systems and gives the plants exactly what they need while pulling in plenty of oxygen. It is an efficient, low-maintenance way to get these cucumbers to reach their full potential.
Socrates is known for being thin-skinned, sweet, and burpless. Since we grow them off the ground and away from the dirt, they stay clean, crisp, and ready to eat right off the vine.
Nothing beats the crunch of a cucumber grown with precision.
