Alcove Farms very regretfully announces that the corn field we had such high hopes for ended up following the path of the peas this year. Unfortunately, we will not be opening the field up, as the corn just didn’t grow as we anticipated. We thank all of you who have followed us and anticipated coming and picking our wonderful sweet corn. We appreciate your patronage and support! The fickleness of the farming life got us this year, but WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!!!

It has been a crazy strange year for our peas and corn. Unfortunately, the peas didn’t make it, but our corn is coming. Though the stalks are stunted, the ears are still maturing and should be ready soon. Please watch this page for notifications of the field opening. Thank you! 🌽

Good news: We have peas planted and growing! YAY!

Bad news: They got into the ground late, so they aren’t ready for picking yet.

We are wrapping up the Sweet Corn Sweet Season. Even though there are ears of corn here and there that are too young, PLEASE come tomorrow and clean the patch. Anyone who still hasn't picked their fill should come tomorrow (Saturday) and take all you can.

I am selling my brand new Mower/Trimmer ... a w**d eater for the back of your tractor. Here is the exact description from the manufacturer: "Get more out of your Category 1 tractor with our heavy-duty Trimmer Mower Attachment. I bought this 1 year ago, for a specific purpose, but never got around to assembling it until last week. (September 5th) It is a w**d eater on a larger scale. I have always like DR Power implements. This is made so well. Strong Steel parts. No whimpy sheet metal. I have used it once, but it does not fit the need I had in mind. Like New ... used 1 time.I paid $1,599.99 for it, am asking $1,100.00. CORN UPDATE: So much great corn. As of Monday, Sept. 2, we opened the patch on the West side of the driveway. (see photo) Now you can pick on both / either side. Also: some ears that were too young when we opened are now maturing and ready to pick, so come and get some (more). Occasionally some pickers pass by corn with husks turning brown. Don't let that fool you, Take a look inside! (See photos).

"IT'S CORN!" Our patch is OPEN so Please come and pick! Just opened today, 28 August 2024. Corn is still young. I am convinced it is THE BEST TASTING, MOST FLAVORFUL CORN YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE. Please remember that the PRICE is what you decide it is. Pay what you would like to pay - Your call. Cash, check or Venmo is accepted. Pick carefully - it is not all mature so only pick the mature cobs and let the young ones keep ripening. This is so good. Don't miss out. In Cove, just 16 miles north of Logan.Just off of US-91 and easy to find. (1125 E 13000 N, Cove, UT 84320)

Thank you, so much, for your support this year. The peas are getting old now, and more difficult to find a lot of young ones. We will close the patch for the season on Saturday evening. It will be open on Friday, 12 July and Saturday 13 July for gleaning. I put the water on them on Thurs. evening for a couple of hours, so it may be a little muddy first thing on Friday morning.
