Wrapping up the Corn Scene!
Update: There is still a lot of corn in the patch on the south side of the road. The North side is pretty well picked through. STILL - I walked through both patches yesterday to find young, small ears. They are still there but you must know what you are looking for. I still believe that even the larger, older ears taste better than what you could buy in the store. They are also great for freezing.

ALSO: The time of yeart has many asking about corn stalks for decoration. We have not had a Frost yet, so they are still green and perfect for yard / party decorations. Bring something to cut them down with and/or string for tying into bundles. ( I prefer a machete, but my grandmother use a butcher knife. I will leave the payment boxes in the field, and just pay what you think they are worth to you. Please tell family, friends or neighbors. Whether stopping for corn or stalks, please come and get them fresh.

SO MUCH CORN!! We are now later in the season but the corn is still great. PLEASE come and help yourself to the valley's best corn ... at the BEST PRICE (your price. Pay what you choose to pay and it is PAYMENT IN FULL.) Yes, you can still find young corn to serve tonight, but even the older, larger corn is good for freezing. Please come. Cove, Utah. US-91 just north of mile marker 43. Follow the signs. Easy to find.

Hey Hey Hey - the time has finally come... Both CORN PATCHES ARE OPEN! It is such good corn. Remember the Policy..."U PICK, PAY WHAT YOU WANT" There is a box on a post in the field for cash or check payments, or the address to pay by Venmo. Come and get it ASAP. Don't let cost stop you from getting what you need to freeze for winter.

Address: 1100 E 13000 N, Cove, UT. There are signs on the highway.
From Smithfield or Logan, - Proceed North on US 91. The next Right turn past Mile Post 43 is 13000 N.
From Idaho - Proceed South on US 91. Pass the IFA plant on the west of the highway at the turn-off to Lewiston, (SR 61) One Half mile south of that intersection, turn left (east) onto 13000 N.

From either direction you will see the signs on the highway.

Alcove Farms very regretfully announces that the corn field we had such high hopes for ended up following the path of the peas this year. Unfortunately, we will not be opening the field up, as the corn just didn’t grow as we anticipated. We thank all of you who have followed us and anticipated coming and picking our wonderful sweet corn. We appreciate your patronage and support! The fickleness of the farming life got us this year, but WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR!!!

I am selling my brand new Mower/Trimmer ... a w**d eater for the back of your tractor. Here is the exact description from the manufacturer: "Get more out of your Category 1 tractor with our heavy-duty Trimmer Mower Attachment. I bought this 1 year ago, for a specific purpose, but never got around to assembling it until last week. (September 5th) It is a w**d eater on a larger scale. I have always like DR Power implements. This is made so well. Strong Steel parts. No whimpy sheet metal. I have used it once, but it does not fit the need I had in mind. Like New ... used 1 time.I paid $1,599.99 for it, am asking $1,100.00. CORN UPDATE: So much great corn. As of Monday, Sept. 2, we opened the patch on the West side of the driveway. (see photo) Now you can pick on both / either side. Also: some ears that were too young when we opened are now maturing and ready to pick, so come and get some (more). Occasionally some pickers pass by corn with husks turning brown. Don't let that fool you, Take a look inside! (See photos).
