His dam came to Cove as a calf herself, in the first load we hauled up from M & M Farms Land and Cattle in Mississippi in July 2024. She's two now, and this is her first.

His sire has produced both champions and herd sires — Ms MBJ-JM Gata 236G, Grand Champion Female at the 2020 IBBA Texas Invitational, and MBJ JM Trio's Havana 7H, who sired our own February 6th calf. Breeders go to Yucca for length, depth and hip.

Her sire is from Greenwood Cattle Co. and is a breeder's bull known for feet, bone, and structural soundness. He's by Dos XX's Prime Time's T-N-T, out of TRIO Cattle & Genetics Angelfire 175A.

Her dam is a donor cow of Wade Benoit of M & M Farms Land and Cattle. While being highly valued for maternal consistency that injects uniform structural correctness, thickness, and a distinguished look in to the competitive show rings as well as replacement heifer programs.

First calf on the ground this year, and an embryo transfer. 844/F is bred and owned by Wade Benoit at M & M Farms Land and Cattle — she's the cow behind the females that started this herd, and this is her son on grass in Cove. TK Fitman 225F2 was bred by Triangle K Farms and is owned by Fernando Franco Diaz and MBJ RANCH.

His dam is a daughter of M&M Ms. Home Run 844/F, and one of the fourteen head we hauled home from Wade Benoit at M & M Farms Land and Cattle in July 2024. His sire was bred by Peirce Cattle Company and owned by Fernando Franco, MBJ RANCH, TRIO Cattle & Genetics, and Sendero Brangus & Braford.

Two years ago last month, we hauled home our first cattle.

Fourteen head, on July 22nd, 2024, from Wade Benoit at M & M Farms Land and Cattle in Poplarville, Mississippi. Every one of them was somebody else's work — bred by Wade, or by Darryl McDonald before him. We bought the genetics and brought them to Arkansas.

Our first calf came the following April. One heifer.

This spring, the whole crop. Every one of them out of a mating we chose ourselves — sire and dam picked on paper, months before there was anything standing there to look at.

That's two years. Still a young outfit. But this is the first crop we can say we made.

🌾 Barn's full. And there's still a row sitting outside it.

Nobody follows a cattle page for pictures of hay. But this is the photo that explains all the other ones.

What comes off this ground late in the summer is what decides how the cows look in February — and how strong their calves start. You can buy the best genetics in the breed. They'll only show you what they've got if they're fed like it. A pedigree is a promise; feed is what lets an animal keep it. 🐄

Cove, Arkansas. Those are the Ouachitas behind the barn. One of the few ranges in the country that runs east to west instead of north to south, and old enough that they were already mountains before there were dinosaurs. Good cattle country, if you don't mind the hills.

🌟 Meet the Herd: TRIOS MCR Lovely 12L

If you caught our post introducing Luxor, you've already seen her — Lovely is the female standing beside him. 💎

She's a TRIO Cattle & Genetics MLS Cortez 175C6 daughter out of MCR TRIO's Hermosa 1012/0, bred by Allen Goode at TRIO Cattle & Genetics — and we own her in partnership with TRIO.

Her sire is worth knowing. Cortez 175C6 is polled, solid red with absolutely no white, and a COI of 0.42 — a decade of daughters on the ground and still one of the most outcross options in the breed. He's also the sire of our herd sire, MCC Maxwell 72M.

And behind him: TRIO's Wildfire 175W. Two-time National Grand Champion. Show Female of the Year. Show Dam of the Year. 🏆 That's Lovely's granddam — and today both of them are listed on TRIO's Donors & Dams page, two generations of the same family standing in that group. For an operation as young as ours, having a female in that company is both an honor and a standard to live up to.

🌟 Meet the Herd: UR Foxxy 225M — but around here, we call her "Mascara." 😍

She earned the nickname honestly: the blackest, longest eyelashes on the place. Foxxy joined Crowned Double P Ranch™ from Dennis Davis' Union Ranch in April 2026 and has been a favorite ever since.

Bred by Stephen Lee at Circle Lee Farms, she's a first-generation UltraRed (UR1) female — LCA Mama Tried 935 × CLF Ms Classic 225 K8 — and AI-bred. As an UltraRed she pairs Red Brangus hardiness with added red-hided performance, and with a COI of just 0.01 she's about as outcross as they come. She's the second Circle Lee–bred female in our program (alongside CLF Ms Lookout 10N2) and fits right into the interesting UltraRed genetics we're cultivating with our herd sire Maxwell.

🙏 A weekend in south Mississippi

Some trips you come home with cattle. This one we came home with a full notebook. 📓

Earlier this month my brother Jonathan Pollard and I (Kyle Pollard Pudenz) made the drive to Poplarville, Mississippi to see Wade Benoit at M & M Farms Land and Cattle. We got our first look at the group of heifers headed to Crowned Double P Ranch™ this fall, and we got to stand in the pasture where the 844 cow family is raised. Wade has a great setup and a great location — and as anyone who has been there will tell you, the man grows fantastic grass. 🌱

The next day, Stephen Lee of Circle Lee Farmsshowed us his operations in Poplarville and nearby Picayune. Seeing both places back to back, and hearing how they think about their matings, it clicked for us how these programs produce premium genetics that work as a foundation and still have the aesthetics to compete in a show ring. That combination isn’t an accident.

Wade and Stephen were both gracious with every question we had — and we had a lot of them. I wrote down everything I could. We were so busy learning and taking pictures of cattle that we never got a single photo of all of us together. Next time!😄

Thank you both for the hospitality and for sharing what you’ve learned. That generosity is one of the best things about this breed.
