Earth Dog Farm

Earth Dog Farm We are a husband and wife agricultural team located in the remote mountains of the Eel River in Mendocino County, California.

Our production is based on our Jersey milk and cream from Miss Moo, who grazes with our own breed of broiler chickens. We are a small community homestead farm and ranch on 80 acres.

We found a Polyphemus moth in a precarious place, so our homeschooling yesterday included Greek mythology, biology, entomology, ecology, physiology, biodiversity, history, natural fibers, animal care, and craftsmanship.

She laid eggs, so we’re going to raise the caterpillars and use the silk, releasing at least half the moths to continue the cycle. 

And Darn, these things are impressive.

We now are finally back in milk, I made cheese for the first time in ages, lactic cheese with roasted garlic and thyme, and fresh tomatoes from the greenhouse on a croissant.
I love this time of year.
