A day we knew would come, but an unfortunate one. We've lived in our home for almost 4 years now, and we know most of our neighbors. Any neighbor who knows us actually knows we have planned on rehoming our roosters. We always answer any questions, and consider the neighbors and our own family, as owning chickens is a lot of work.
However, I am disappointed by the veiled threat by a STRANGER who could've approached us to find out that we have secured rehoming for 3 of the roosters. Discouraging, and disheartening as a pregnant mother who's TODDLER son loves his chickens. The Coventry Animal control would come aggressively take an animal he raised from a day old and slaughter it, instead of a "neighbor" coming to discuss with us first.
To say that this "neighbor" chose the most cowardice option for being "neighborly" is an understatement. Learn to talk to your neighbors first before deciding to hide behind the USPS and threats. You would've known we had plans already. Instead, you made sure that we leave this area a lot sooner than planned.
Sincerely,
Kaitlynn Ferro & Josh.
