Did you know our farm makes skincare products? For over 10 years that’s all our family has used is our soap. I started out with simple soaping, the melt and pours. To producing my own soap from ingredients I produce here. I’ve been making my own milk soaps for over 5 years now. We do a soap making process called cold process. Where I take our cows & goats milk & freeze it. Then I take sodium hydroxide (lye) mix it with the cold milk until the lye dissolves the milk. Then pour our fats in. We use lard harvested from our own pigs & raw organic coconut oil.
That’s it. Simple easy & honest. I use plant based fragrances & essential oils. The ones I do color I use ethically mined mica coloring powders or plant based powders like tea leaves, turmeric, cinnamon etc.
I love what i do. It’s the reason i wanted this farm. I can literally use my own hands to make & create whatever I want.
We have a lot of goats to create milk now exclusively for skincare.
We have 3 beautiful bovine. I started with one scoured calf to having her create two beautiful heifers that are both here as permanent residents too. We made a familys & herds. I know I say it but I feel incredibly lucky. It’s just soap to some people but to me it’s a long standing dream/goal of mine that I set out & accomplished. I had plenty of chances to stop & give up.
Mornings where I most definitely didn’t want to get up to care for anyone else let alone myself.
My family has been nothing but supportive even when I know there are days where they gotta hate me for this life. They still show up with me though to sell soap & other holistic products we sell to support this hippy regenerative Farmher and her hare brained dreams.
I’m sitting here reflecting on the long market seasons & just the last 8 years. Thankful doesn’t even begin to describe how grateful I feel. We don’t have a lot but we make use of what we have & build from there. I’m hopeful in a few years to pay this place down and start again but bigger. It be our final place where I can make more & more products sustainably & naturally on a much larger more regenerative scale. It’s much much more than a simple bar of soap.

Travis will tell you this is my baby I work really really hard for it. I’m not perfect so everything I do takes time & effort. So I really do appreciate everyone who has been patient kind & just downright delightful to accommodate. I do this in be service of others wile also pursuing this passion.
