It was love at first canning pot for me—once I started, I just couldn't stop! I am a mad scientist of jams, jellies, chutneys, and sauces, and anything you can … can—I do. I was raised with my triplet brother and sisters in Ryland, Ky., on good old- fashioned southern cooking and trips to the area’s best restaurants. I worked in bakeries, candy stores and coffee shops, all the while improving my b

aking skills at home with chocolate mousses and layer cakes. I studied magazine journalism, women’s studies and film at Syracuse University. After graduating from college, I fell in love with cooking and began dreaming up new concoctions. When I wasn’t cooking, I traveled as much as she could, visiting five continents and even taking cooking classes in Umbria, Italy. I moved to Chicago in 2008 for a change of scene, and in 2010, she enrolled in culinary school at Kendall College, which was ranked as the #1 program for culinary arts in Chicago by the Chicago Michelin Guide Restaurants. At Kendall, Chef Mavis was classically trained in the culinary arts and had the opportunity to take a Mexican Master Class with renowned Mexican chefs. In 2011, I graduated with a certificate in Catering and Personal Chef from Kendall College. Not long after, I moved back home to Northern Kentucky, married the man of her dreams, and established The Delish Dish and Made By Mavis to bring my favorite gourmet flavors to Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. While I spend a lot of my time as the executive chef and owner of The Delish Dish, a boutique catering company in Covington, Ky., I felt the need to share my love for jams and jellies with not just my family, but the world. I LOVE JAM!! And so, the Made By Mavis artisan product line was born to transport my favorite gourmet flavors to your home. My artisan products are lovingly made the old-fashioned way in a French copper jam pot from the finest ingredients and organic spices. Our unique flavor combinations will have you saying, “That’s MY jam!”

BIG NEWS ALERT! Earlier this year I was honored to participate in Goldman Sach’s 10,000 Small Businesses Program as part of Cohort 5. This is a very intensive business development program aimed at helping entrepreneurs create a growth plan for their business. I spent 3 months working on a growth plan for the creation of a new branch of The Delish Dish, and I’ve worked hard over the last 9 months to bring this growth plan to life.

While I won’t be launching this new product for a month or two, part of my growth plan was to revamp and refresh The Delish Dish website, and I am so excited to announce that my new website is finally ready for the world!

We’ve brought The Delish Dish website into the 2020s with a fresh new custom design by Reversed Out, gorgeous food photography from Cincinnatian Allison McAdams, updated menu pages, an in-depth venue section, and even the ability to purchase Made By Mavis Jams directly from our new site instead of going to Shopify. I’m extremely proud of all the hard work our team has put into making this new website so beautiful and informative.

I’m SO in love with our new site and I think you will be too!

Raspberry Rose 🌹

The flavor is tart and has a sweet taste that is fruity and almost floral. These berries are cooked down into a jam with little bits of the berries strewn through the sticky, thick and semi-translucent jam. The jam is red and tastes similar to the fresh berry, but sweeter from the added sugar! 🎀
