Since we don’t know when Caribou had her date, we don’t know when she is due. That means we have to watch and wait forever to try to not miss the event. Caribou has all the signs for weeks now; no ligaments, licky, pawing and loving behavior. I don’t want to miss it because she has had trouble in the past so we were not breeding her, but she had other plans. We are looking for a pet home for her because she is great eye candy, but should no longer be bred, but with bucks on the property, it manages to happen sometimes in spite of all our efforts. Meanwhile, we are enjoying the babies that are already her! These babies belong to Mocha, but Vienna accepts them as her own! Maybe because they are her sisters??

Guess what we found! Dorsey will make a blackberry pie out of these. And there are still tons left to pick! The deer have not gotten to them yet probably due to the rain. I think I broke Mirette. I couldn’t get her to smile.

Caribou wondering how she is going to get back to her pre-baby figure. (Psst… she always looks pregnant, so she will get there very easily.)

A lot going on now and a lot to watch on camera. Baby goats harassing their mom and Caribou baby watch! Caribou started acting like she was ready AGAIN! Pawing, pacing, stretching and biting at her tummy, then THIS, nothing. I have not checked ligaments today but she seems close last I checked and babies seem to make her body react, but we don’t want them 1/2 baked so she is getting her bun in the oven nice and done like a good mommy. Watch her be the only one that needs no assistance at all, when she is the one I am most worried about. I wasn’t even worried about Valentine and look what happened. It shows you that you never know what will happen when it comes to goats! We are here for you Caribou!

Market time! We missed it last week due to illness but plan to be there tomorrow. We have lots of fresh chicken eggs if you want to make an egg salad for memorial weekend. If you want duck eggs, let us know and we can bring some. We have limited supply of duck eggs.

The market will be open tomorrow, 8:30am-12pm.

Dorsey was by himself when Valentine started labor. He was a hero and pulled one still born baby girl out that was holding up the other 2. We would have lost every one including mom if he had not been there. So far the doelings are winning this year with one more on deck for more babies soon. If Valentine had 3, Caribou must have 4!! Or maybe just large babies which is possible with her.

Caribou is holding out! She acts like she is ready but she just refuses to let her babies out! I hope they are okay. Really nervous about this one.
