We’re opening the farm for a Spring Renewal Retreat — a space to slow down, reconnect, and receive what your body and nervous system have been asking for.

🌿🐐 Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary Presents: SUNNY GOAT FLOW 🌞

We’re bringing a few of our boys to Louisville for a joyful afternoon of movement, sunshine, and connection.

And we can’t wait for you to meet them…

🐐 Levi – Our steady, grounding presence. Levi loves to be snuggled, and his bright blue eyes have a way of completely melting hearts. He’s one of our friendliest kids and will happily lean in for affection the moment you sit down.
🐐 Judah – Full of personality and sometimes a little rambunctious. Judah wants all the attention — all the time — and he’s not shy about it. If there’s a spotlight, he assumes it’s his.
🐐 Hezekiah – The smallest of the group, but quite mighty. He’s often the very first to greet new people and welcome them into the tribe. Bold, curious, and confident beyond his size.
🐐 Hiram – Hezekiah’s twin brother and our shy little soul. Quiet and observant, Hiram has truly blossomed in his role as a therapy goat. Watching him grow into himself and step gently into connection has been beautiful.

These boys are not props.
They are part of our healing team at Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary.

🥚🐔 Easter came early at Rustic Forrest Farm & Sanctuary… and the chickens did NOT leave a map. 🐐🌾

Every year when the weather starts warming up, our hens decide it’s time for their annual game of “Surprise Egg Drop.”

We’ll find eggs in:
• The goat barn
• Random stalls
• Corners of the coop
• The middle of the yard
• Places that make absolutely no logical sense

This week’s discovery? An egg perfectly placed in the goat barn, on top of the big round hay bale… because apparently the goats needed protein options? 🐐🥚

One year a chicken laid an egg right beside our sweet handicap duck Mackie (aka Macadamia), who was in her wheelchair — like she was dropping off a little breakfast delivery. 🦆💛

Another time we were walking through the yard and almost stepped on one. Thank goodness it was blue and stood out in the grass… although we almost didn’t see it. That would’ve been a very unfortunate crunch. 😅

Farm rule #47:
Never assume the coop is the only place eggs will be.
Always look down.
And apparently the goats are honorary nesting consultants now.

Spring on the farm = baby green grass, sunshine… and spontaneous treasure hunts. 🥚🌿

If you visit and see us randomly staring at the ground, just know we’re not confused

— we’re egg scouting. 😂

🦄💨 Lazarus “Patches” Update – The Lopsided Unicorn Chronicles 💨🦄

If you’ve been following along, you know Lazarus (aka Lazi Patch ) decided to challenge a goat twice his size and earned himself a one-horned, lopsided unicorn look.

With this wind today and his current “quarantine + padded room + please-don’t-reopen-your-head” confinement situation… it has been a day.

Picture this:
Me.
One determined goat with a single horn.
A trailer door.
And wind strong enough to send us to Oz.

At one point I was literally airborne, hanging onto the trailer door like a kite while trying to keep Mr. Unicorn from rubbing his head on anything that might reopen the wound.

He, of course, felt this was an excellent time to test physics.

I am currently out of breath, covered in hay, and questioning every life decision that led me here.

But he’s safe.
He’s stubborn.
He’s still very much Lazarus.

Please keep sending steady healing thoughts his way — and maybe a little extra strength and patience my way too. 🧡
