We have to start remembering that we are all on the same team!
As stallion owners, mare owners, breeders, exhibitors, trainers, and everyone who makes up this horse show industry, we all have a stake in its future.
Being a stallion owner means promoting your own program, but it should never mean tearing down someone else’s. We should be able to celebrate another stallion’s success, congratulate another breeder on a beautiful foal, or support someone else’s program even when it isn’t our stallion, our mare, or our breeding.
Because here’s the truth: when one part of this industry succeeds, it helps all of us.
We need more people breeding.
More people showing.
More people investing in horses.
More people bringing new families into our associations.
More people excited about being part of this industry.
And the way we accomplish that isn’t by competing against each other in ways that tear people down. It’s by building each other up.
Other stallion owners should be some of our biggest supporters, not because they are standing behind our stallion, but because they are standing behind the future of the industry we all love.
If we spend our time tearing each other down, eventually there will be nothing left to tear down.
Let’s make our associations bigger. Let’s make our industry stronger. Let’s make people WANT to be a part of it.
There is room for all of us. There is room for every great horse, every breeding program, every trainer, every exhibitor, and every person who loves this industry.
We don’t build a bigger industry by pulling each other down. We build it by standing together!!!!
