Sold this season's bull calf, Granite, and bought a new unrelated bull calf, Cowboy. Guess I like the look. I'll get better pictures. Ebony is excited for a new playmate.

Genetics is crazy. My 2 cows are full sisters. Their calves are by the same bull 6 days apart. They are 4 months old. Agate, red cow, is significantly larger than Onyx, black cow. Agate's belted heifer is so small compared to her mom. While Onyx's white bull calf is almost as big as his mom. Just always amazing.

Granite just looks so big next to his mom, Onyx. He 2.5 months old. Onyx is short, 40" when I measured last year. I think he has a home with a neighbor. I will try to measure him. He's a little shy but loves a good head scratch...hahaha.

I sold my white heifer last year. She turned a year in March. She is the white cow with horns and black markings in the picture. She turned out beautiful. The calf isn't her's. Their bull is white with red tips and is throwing white calves. She's going to have pretty babies with him.

Can you tell which picture is from 2025 and which 2026? If the calves stood next to each other you could tell one white one is a bull and the other a heifer with horns. The 2 oreos have their band in a slightly different spot. Neither has horns. The funny thing is the colors were born to different moms this time. My bull seems to be pretty consistent...hahaha.

I fenced in my yard so I don't have to mow the hill. Cows and calves are enjoying it. These mini longhorn, belted Galloway and British white cross calves will be available when weaned in September. White one is a bull calf and should make a nice herd bull. Expected to be 48". Belted is a heifer and will be smaller, about 40". We're in Craig CO. Message for more info.

These babies are so cute. Granite is a little wild man where Ebony is more of a lady. Moms are in the grain buckets so babies are on their own.

Ebony had me worried yesterday and early this morning. She had such an icy start. I wasn't sure momma had milk or not much. Lots of prayers and she is doing good now at the end of day 2.

Caught the babies running this evening. Granite was going to run me over I think.
