Harvested carrots today and were blessed with 3 gallons once the tops were off. Any ideas for use for the carrot tops?

I got these 2 gallon food-grade buckets from Tractor Supply to put my honey it. The 5 gallon buckets are too heavy and don’t fit under the extractor. These buckets work great. I’m planning on bottling up honey this week.

The sweet corn is looking good. The sweet dumpling squash has a lot of squash on it.

Today I’m 70 years old. Not a birthday I’ve been thrilled about, but we must count our blessings and be thankful. I earnestly believe an attitude of gratitude is vital for our mental health and well-being.

Not everyone would be thrilled with chickens, ducks, and guinea hens for their birthday, but I am. We had taken a break from poultry, but I missed having them. Yes,some of them are panting, poor things. It is 97 here today. They have fresh cold water and I sprinkled them with the hose. We also have a fan on them. The chickens are not laying yet. They were gifted from friends,so something else to be thankful for.

We have a problem with ticks and I don’t like to spray the yard. The guinea hens are notoriously good at eliminating ticks. Tick born illnesses are increasingly common. The hens have a reputation of being noisy and roaming. Hopefully that won’t be too much of a problem.

Garden pics. The corn is in the beds where I harvested onions and broccoli. It’s pretty close together so I hope it does okay. We are trapping and relocating raccoons before the sweet corn comes on. I picked blackberries then forgot to bring them in and the raccoons ate them all!

Canning potatoes, green beans and salsa this week. Picked the first ripe cantaloupe.
