$3 pumpkin sale … we put a small patch in just south of the house in the front field.. it was hard to get them to make with the drought this year, all of these pumpkins believe it or not are the 16-20 lb Jack O Lantern variety … just lack of water kept them from all making weight… still good pumpkins…
I know Wally World is bigger and not much more… and that’s okay .. so by all means by your big ones from them.. but if ya want a little smaller one or for pumpkin pies … these should be good..

Although not “ certified organic “
I didn’t spray any w**d killer or pesticides on these bad boys… they did receive some fertilizer 46-0-0 urea right after planting twice.

Everyone in SW Missouri… you might want to brush up on your knowledge of Johnson grass toxicity..
We’ve been in a 40+ day drought… after we get this rain over the next few days, Johnson grass will catch a regrowth spurt and the potential and high likelihood of the Prussic acid poisoning will be there..

When in doubt get them cows out of the field with Johnson grass, and be very careful on opening up new fields and pastures to then after this rain.

Thanks
Nic

Are you a small time cattleman or cattlewoman?

Does the price of a breeding bull have you wondering…

” How in the world am I going afford to get my cows bred this year?!?!? … I can’t afford a $5000 bull…”

Well I have a proposal for you then…. We are in the situation where after this summer… going to need to turn the Bull into Cash…

But wait!
That would be nice to Cash 💰 in on the great market… but then will the market go up will it go down? Before next breeding season… who knows…

Sure you can rent a bull… who you don’t know… some guy pulls up and drops off a rodeo bull and sure he gets the cows bred but he tears down the portable corral… trash’s a few gates while he’s at it… was that worth it ??

How about I propose a “Boarding Program”

I’ve got plenty of grass this year… good fences… keep an eye on the cows regularly … oh and did i mention

“ Manhattans Son “ the very calm… very well mannered - Registered Polled Hereford bull 🐂

This is how it would work… you bring your cows … small herds… ain’t got room for 40 cows… and that’s not the point of it … the point of this is you have 1 cow or 3 cows or maybe 5 cows that you need to get bred… you load em up and bring them over… they get to eat my grass… drink my water… hang out with the bull… for a low low price of … ole let’s say $3 per day per head… I’d say that’s fair …

Drop them off for atleast 45 days… I’d recommend 75 days to make dang sure everyone gets covered… I mean really depends.. if your confident your cows are in heat … and ya bring them over for a short stint of 30 days … then so be it…

Whoa! What about a guarantee buddy!

Well if ya bring some good calm cows, just looking for a boyfriend … in good body condition… I’d say if you left them here for atleast 60 days…. That’s a damn good chance of 2 solid heat cycles … I’d be willing to guarantee ole Manhattan’s Son would get them pregnant… but if ya try to do a 25 day stint and expect a guarantee … nope ain’t gonna put my guy out there under those expectations… but even with a good ole college try… if for some reason they weren’t Bred… $1 per day … that covers the water / grass…

See I figure …
$1 = Water / Mineral
$1 = Grass
$1 = Profit

Oh the ole Disclaimer:

I’m not responsible for your cow dieing … get insurance yourself… I’ve got insurance on my cattle and it’s about $250 a year … cheap cheap cheap …

I’ll keep them in the fences… but if your cow jumps out of the trailer and runs down to the corner and jumps the perimeter fence and runs off … buddy that’s on you … No crazy ass Cattle welcome..

And last of all hauling your cows is on you … unless ya wanna pay me a decent penny… I’m not going 200 miles round trip… but if your close within 40 miles or so of Marionville Mo … and you have a way of loading … decent corral … and such and I don’t waste 4 hours trying to help you load your cows … I’d haul them to my place for $2 per mile loaded … and of course another $2 per mile to take them back to the house for you after the breeding happens… truck don’ run on fairy dust… and flats happen..

So what are ya looking at …
60 day stay… X $3= $180
75 day stay … X $3 =$225
If haul them FREE travel because Farming Is Fun lol
If i haul them ? $60-$80 ? Fairy Dust Fee ( gas)

Pretty cheap…pretty fair deal…

After the breeding time… you’re more than welcome to have the vet out todo a preg check.. and use the corral and squeeze chute.. ( at your cost ) or get a glove and do it yourself

Located in Marionville Mo
If you want to come take a look at the Bull… and discuss the program … more than welcome too.
