The last Friday in August — how did we get here already?!

It’s been all things back-to-school around here as Little Farmer Number One started first grade this week, and Little Farmer Number Two heads off to preschool. 🥹

And just like that, hoodie-weather harvesting season is right around the corner! 🍂🌸

While we’re still recovering from what can only be described as Biblical rain totals and the subsequent flooding on the farm, we’ve decided to keep the Flower Stand closed for another week. 🙃☔️

We’re bummed to be closed once again, but to cheer you up, here’s a photo of a monarch living its best life in our zinnias! 🦋🌸

Well, flower friends…we’ve had a LOT of rain in the last week. ⛈️

Almost 10 inches fell on the farm, and unfortunately, it took its toll on our flowers and fields. Because of the damage, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel 🌸 Back-to-School Blooms at Evergreen Hill 🌸 tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19.

We were so excited to open up the farm for our first ticketed event, so this one is especially tough. But sometimes the farm has other plans and this week, Mother Nature definitely called the shots.

We’re still hoping to find a way to gather together on the farm later this season, so stay tuned! And in the meantime, we’ll be out in the fields doing our best to salvage what we can and enjoy the blooms that made it through the rain. 🌻

Thank you for understanding and sticking with us through the muddy, rainy, not-always-perfect parts of farming! 🫶

We’re about ready to build an ark here on the farm 🙃☔️…holy cow, we’ve had a lot of rain!

For context (because our rain gauge was already overflowing and hadn’t been emptied the last few days), this bucket — which was unceremoniously left outside on Wednesday evening — has collected a good amount of water! 😂

After all of this rain, we’ve decided to close the Flower Stand today so we can catch up on the farm once things dry out a bit. But if you’d like a wrapped bouquet, just send us a message and we’ll get one prepped for you! 🌸

The rain this week has been relentless! 😳 The flowers and the weeds are happy 🙃, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t have any dahlia casualties just as they’re about to hit their stride. 🤞🏻

The good news? The weather is looking perfect next Wednesday for 🌸 Back-to-School Blooms at Evergreen Hill 🌸!

Trust us, we understand the pull of fall — wanting to enjoy every last moment of summer while inching toward the coziest (hello, Gilmore Girls rewatch!) and sometimes busiest season.

So, take a moment to savor summer with your family (or a group of friends) and join us for 🌸 Back-to-School Blooms at Evergreen Hill 🌸 on August 19 from 5:30–7:30 p.m.!

Bring a picnic, relax on our picnic blankets, and let the kiddos enjoy a back-to-school craft. Each family will create a Bloom Bar bouquet to take to their teacher (or enjoy at home!).
