I was challenged last fall by to learn about and grow some "cool flowers". Wow it worked!

I learned what Bupleurum seedlings look like. We have all been there, right. Bells of Ireland too. I have been babysitting my 1 seed packet of Lisianthus seedlings since January. They are doing great. I now can say I tried soil blocking too.

Moral of the story, try new things, challenge yourself, be curious. Push others to do the same. We are all here to help each other learn and grow.

Yes we also raise sheep and have been for several years. Like with anything, still always learning.

Wool is our go to mulch in the garden!

Retains moisture
Breakes down and relases nitrogen into the soil
Suppresses weeds

We use what we have! Sheep Farmer=wool mulch

Have you used your wool for mulch?

Peony 'Do Tell' might be my favorite?

What do you think? I like the anemone Type over the full bomb shell peonies.

Well really I like them all!

Peonies are taking over the feed for now. They are blooming fast and furious. Last year we saved 12 dozen in the fridge for our daughter's bridal shower in June.

This year we are enjoying the blooms in the garden everyday! What a show Minnie Shaylor gives us. Starting out pale pink and fading to white. These are beautiful in the garden but did not store well long term in the fridge.

I brought this bouquet in the house to enjoy for myself!

Fact: Sheep need each other, they are a flock animals and 2 or more sheep together is ideal. This makes them feel safe and have less stress and anxiety.

We had a question recently about what exactly were the sheep we raise. Babydoll Southdowns

They are a miniature Southdown that is between 16"-24" at the shoulder. It is a small breed that is quiet and makes a great pasture pet.

They need sheared once a year which is something you can learn to do yourself.
