Heritage Turkey Spotlight 🦃
Our turkey flock is one of the things we're proud of here at Free Spirit Acres!
We currently have a beautiful Sweetgrass tom paired with a colorful group of hens including Tri-Color Chocolate, Black Mottled, Blue Slate, Red Bourbon, and Bronze. The variety of colors and patterns these birds produce is always exciting to watch develop.
Heritage turkeys are more than just beautiful—they're hardy, excellent foragers, and help preserve some amazing poultry genetics for future generations.
What's your favorite heritage turkey variety? Sweetgrass, Blue Slate, Bourbon Red, Bronze, or something else? Let us know in the comments! 👇🦃

🐔 Breed Spotlight: La Flèche 🐔
Known as the "Devil Chicken" because of their unique V-shaped comb, La Flèche are one of the rarest and most striking heritage breeds in the poultry world!
At Free Spirit Acres, we're proud to be helping preserve this historic French breed. Not only are they beautiful, but they are also active foragers, hardy birds, and excellent layers of large white eggs.
❓ Did you know? La Flèche chickens date back hundreds of years and originated in France, where they were highly prized for both egg production and meat quality.
📸 We want to hear from you!
Would you add La Flèche to your flock? 👍 Yes, absolutely! ❤️ Already have them! 😮 Never heard of them before!
