As many of you know, we have to relocate so we listed our farm/house for sale and no longer sell milk.

Currently, our house is under contract and we are having an auction for a lot of our items that we cannot move or take with us. Feel free to come out on August 1st and pick up some good deals. Here is the Facebook link.

A Quick PSA.

With Springtime here, you may notice some changes to the flavor profile of our raw milk. This is due in part from a transition from winter hay and grasses to green spring pastures. The higher amounts of beta carotene and fatty acids directly impacts the flavor and even the color of the cream.

While it is more nutritious this time of year, it may taste a bit different than what you are used too but soon it will be back to a "normal" flavor profile as we head into the later parts of spring.

The spring grasses are really pretty this time of year. It reminds me of when I was in the Army and we stopped at Shannon, Ireland for a layover on the way to our deployment in Iraq in 2007.

I just remember looking down at a sea of emerald grass on the hillsides of Ireland and not realizing that was the last time I would see grass like that for quite a while.

You just never know what you may miss until it's gone 🌿🌱🌻🌺🌼🌸

I was bottling the milk this evening and as customary, I taste test before I sell any milk to make sure to flavor profile is spot on. There is a science and knowledge how to make sure it taste just right!

Anyway, we have been around raw milk for so long it has become normalized to us and I realized this is how real milk is supposed to look! It is supposed to have that nice golden color as a result of all of that rich heavy cream!

If you haven't ordered in a while or never tried it, now is a good time. Springtime raw milk is tops! 🌼🌸🌻🌺🌹🌺🌸🌻🌼

We wanted to let everyone know that the dairy will be closed from March 1st -9th for some much needed time-off. You can of course pickup milk ordered before that as usual. The cows will continued to be milked as usual but we won't be able to sell the milk since the licensed operators will be taking time off.

If you need to stock up for the week ahead and order extra, we will have plenty of fresh milk all the way up until the 28th of February.

This is Martha; she was our first Jersey that we ever milked ourselves. She was about as perfect as you could get, and now she's with another family as their primary family cow. 🐄💕😊

To date, we have had Martha, Eleanor, Abigail, Harriet, and Florence. 🐄

What do all of these names have in common? Believe it or not, they all have one thing in common. What do you think the answer is?

We just had our milk components tested and they came back and rated as "superior" or A+ quality for protein, fat and elite milk solids!

We have plenty in stock so you can place an order and pickup right away.

We enjoy milking our cows, but we also enjoy this brief season where we can collect sap from our sugar maple trees and boil it to make some homemade maple syrup! 🌲💧🍁👍😋

Unlike a commercial dairy, a small dairy like ours has a great deal of flexibility. At times, we can let the dam raise her calf instead of separating them from birth.

Here is a perfect example of this. We have Dolley raising her calf, Florence, in a natural way. We do not milk Dolley at all, but we decided it was best to let her have her calf full-time. The survivability rate for calves raised this way is incredibly high compared to bottle feeding.

We do have to bottle-feed our girls' calves that we milk to sell to meet cleanliness standards, but mom can still visit with her calf and love on them through gate openings so everyone is relaxed and not stressed out creating higher quality milk!
