Cattle don’t do holidays. 🤣
Without fail, somebody will need something on every single one.

Yesterday, we thought we were headed home for the day when we noticed someone limping badly. Instead, we ended up loading an “urgent care” patient into the trailer and heading to the barn so we could safely assess and treat. Two hours later, we finally made it home to a very hungry bottle calf and two tired and hungry humans wondering what on earth to make for dinner and which one of us was going to cook. 😅

So we pulled together Frisco melt burgers with our own Highland beef and sourdough from our neighbors at Gamble Family Farmstand. Super simple, fast, and SO good.

Gotta love delicious meals made with simple ingredients at the end of the longest days. 🤎🥩

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend at the Market 🇺🇸
Join us this Saturday, May 23rd, for a meaningful Memorial Day Weekend at the Stonefort Farmers Market as we gather to honor those who gave their lives serving our country. ❤️

We’ll begin the morning with a special performance of Taps at 8:00 AM by Marion graduate, Ehren Neikes, followed by live music from Colton Rice starting at 8:30 AM. 🎶

At 10:30 AM, we’ll host our Sundaes for Service complimentary ice cream bar for service members and their families (while supplies last). 🍨🇺🇸

We will also have a Wall of Honor displayed near the stage for the community to participate in throughout the morning. Neighbors are invited to fill out a tag in memory of a fallen soldier from our community or simply spend a moment reflecting on the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and never returned home. ❤️

Spend your Saturday morning shopping local with over 50 vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, delicious beverages, handmade items, farm goods, and more.

A few reminders for our neighbors before heading out:
• The grounds are still wet from recent rain- boots are encouraged 🌧️
• Cell service at the grounds is limited, so bringing cash is highly recommended 💵
•Tips for our musicians are always appreciated!

We are not open today but we are here prepping up for the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois where we will have Dakota Ranch Highland BEEF on the menu! You will not find a better burger, grass fed, no growth hormones and made with respect and Southern hospitality. We have an awesome menu for the event and will surely meet you at the window tomorrow!!! ✈️🇺🇸🍽
