August is leaving us with the expected arrival of Hurricane Dolly, in the next week. The rain continues almost daily, heat index still high, and please continue to hydrate. The recipe of the week is a ONE STEP ONION AND OLIVE BREAD-Sift 1 1/2 c bread flour and 1 t salt, 1/2 t black pepper, 1 envelop yeast in a large bowl. Finely chop 1 medium onion, sauté in 1T EVOO, for 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside to cool. In another large bowl add 1 1/2 c hot water, 1/2 c cold milk, cool to room temp, add 2 T EVOO. Stir in onions and 1/3 c chopped ripe olives. Mix together and form a rough dough, turn out on a surface dusted with flour. Form into a loaf and place in a oiled pan. Allow to rise for 1 to 1 1?2 hours or double in size. Bake 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. John's Co-Op will have fresh eggs from Dennis, Forest Farm honey, preserved items, and black beans. No other vendors have responded yet. Come to the corner of Stillwell and Industrial Derive here in Crestview on Saturday from 9 Am to 1PM.
