FREE event for the first 15 couples (City of La Grange residents)

The event may last up to 3 hours, and guests will learn how to make a pasta filata mozzarella-type cheese. Pasta filata ("spun paste") is a family of Italian cheeses made by stretching and kneading curds in hot water, giving them a characteristic elastic, stringy texture. After a demonstration, led by Dr. Ronald Maldonado, PhD, Food Science & Technology, from Harvest Moon Farms, LLC, in Crestwood, Kentucky, participants will make their own batch, using all-natural ingredients, including whole pasteurized milk from Harvest Home Dairy.

All materials will be provided, and we ask any participants who reserve a seat to stay and enjoy the entire event. Reserved seats will be saved for the first 15 couples (30 people) who sign up, and we will place a handful of entries on the stay-by list in case of any cancellations. You will receive an email confirmation from Steve Mahoney, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of La Grange, within 48 hours.

We ask that all participants be over the age of 21, and we are requesting that this be an adult (kid-free) event for folks to meet, enjoy conversation, and learn how to make Fresh Mozzarella & Bocconcini cheese! Light snacks will be provided.

This event is for residents of the City of La Grange.
