As the meat birds grow, we watch their size and condition to monitor for optimal feed consumption. These guys don’t have an “off switch” in their brain and will eat themselves until they quite literally burst.
Keeping an eye on growth, skin condition, and mobility helps them to grow at a manageable rate for their quality of life.
This group is doing fantastic!

Egg layers arrived 🍳

The farm is canvas for learning for all of us and an integral part of our kids’ schooling. Sophie’s wanted to breed dogs since she was tiny so it fell in as the perfect business for her to start.

So’s been a puppy sitter for Guide Dogs for the Blind, devours books on dog care and training, and at 15 is studying to be a Vet tech.

So was really captivated by the new Colorado Mountain Dog (CMD) breed for there temperament, beauty, and chosen traits for smaller farms. They’re amazing. Dog dad Greg is the bestest boy. Pending hip X-rays on mom, So’s first litter (9 pups!) will be registered CMD’s.

It’s amazing to see your kid who says she struggles with math owning and crushing the medication calculations.

So proud of the kind, beautiful, smart young woman she is.
