Our Story

Jones EcoFarms is based on the idea that a thriving landscape produces healthy, delicious food. We strive to raise our crops and livestock in an ecologically sound way. This means diversity of plants and animals; integrating different species so they support each other's growth; perennial plant systems; and most importantly, building soil and storing water, carbon, and fertility on the farm.

Justin Jones founded Jones EcoFarms (formerly Jones Produce) in 2010 in the hills east of Crete, Nebraska. The farm initially focused on produce, but soon expanded to include livestock and perennial plant production. We currently raise 4 acres of produce, with an emphasis on asparagus, melons, and fruit trees. Livestock on the farm include pastured hogs and turkeys. Our produce and pastures were certified organic in 2018. Alongside the farm business, Justin operates Jones EcoDesign, a holistic property design and consulting service, and is a part owner and general manager of Lone Tree Foods.
