Why do we remove the garlic scrape??

Well, removing the scrape stimulates the plant to direct all its energy into growing the actual garlic head. Instead of growing flowers and seeds, it grows the bulb.

Will I ever leave a scrape on the plant?

Yes!! That way I have seeds to dry and replant for new production.

But don’t you use the bulb to do that?

You can! But growing from seed gives you more garlic to use for food!

Happy national dairy month! Midnight is here to say that goats make milk too! It’s also naturally a2, gentler on the stomach, and packed full of nutritious proteins.

Cows have to be tested for a2 milk and the whole herd has to be tested for this trait before a farmer can say they actually have a2 milk. Goats on the other hand are natural producers!
