The Tree Farm will have Pick-Your-Own pumpkins for sale this fall. Sales start September 26. Hours are Thursday and Friday 3:00 pm to Sunset, Saturday and Sunday 9-5. Lots of nice pie-size pumpkins and some slightly larger. Lots of cute mini-pumpkins. Nothing large or jumbo this year.

Pumpkins are the only vegetable for sale in 2025.

Cash or local (Wisconsin) check only please. We’re not set up for plastic this year.

The Tree Farm now has over 200 chestnut trees in the ground, over 140 planted in 2025. It will be interesting to see how quickly these trees grow and when they enter production.

Fall planting some Chestnuts, today, and discovering a spring planted tree written off as dead is actually alive.

The trees planted this year will start producing enough nuts to sell in 7-10 years. We have a few trees that will start production sooner. The next adventure is started.

Just a reminder, The Tree Farm will not be selling pick-your-own vegetables during the 2024 season.

Change continues at the Tree Farm. There will be no vegetable sales to the public this year, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t planting for the future. These pictures show newly planted chestnut trees in the area where the tomatoes were in 2023. We are expecting production to start in 5 to 7 years with yields increasing for many years after that.

It is with great sadness, we announce there will be no public vegetable sales at The Tree Farm in 2024.

We would like to thank our customers for great memories and 51 great years through all sorts of weather. We would like to thank the employees who have made the farm a great place over the years. We have special thanks for the employees and volunteers who helped the farm persist through age and failing health the past few years.

We saw the limited produce in the Madison market in 1973. We took a small farm with small steep fields and found a niche to work with our land. We're proud of what we have done and we hope, that in some small way, we made the world a better place.

Just a reminder. 🎄 The Tree Farm does not have Christmas Trees for sale. 🎄Our trees outgrew that stage years ago, and we are now cutting some of them for lumber.
