Animal husbandry looks different for everybody.

For some, it means early mornings making sure bottle babies get fed. For others, it means letting nature take its course without preventative care. Around here, it means ending a long work day at 11:32p.m. with a hen soaking in a warm bath on our kitchen table for 20 minutes. 🀣

We truly do put our animals’ well-being first. πŸ’— Our sweet BCM hen got a nice warm soak, her medications, and a few extra vitamins tonight. Now we’re hoping all the extra TLC helps her start feeling better soon. 🀞🏻

Behold… Our very first Watermelon! πŸ‰
The picture can be deceiving on the size of this thing!
Our Dad had a great love for watermelon that he happened to pass down to us. 😊 It was special to taste the first melon grown straight from his garden, from the soil he spent so much time cultivating.
Tasty, juicy, mouthwatering, perfect.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the long hours, the sacrifice, or the work no one sees. It’s realizing that not every act of kindness or dedication will be returned.

But God’s Word reminds me:

β€œLet us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” β€” Galatians 6:9

So I’ll keep showing up. I’ll keep serving with integrity. I’ll keep trusting that what God has for me cannot be taken away by disappointment or people. My harvest is in His hands, not theirs. 🌺
