New chick in the coop...

Our young Cemani hen decided sitting and hatching eggs looked like fun. So the day her momma hen got done sitting and hatching, she jumped on the nest.

Poor momma only had one egg under her but she stayed strong and hatched it!

It's been a hot minute since we've been around on the socials, but we're still here! And our ducks are still in a row 😂

We've downsized the homestead and haven't looked back. Sometimes you have to do whats best for you and your family, even if it looks different than last year's best.

Time goes by to quickly...remember to live life a little and find joy in it too!

After weeks of the girls kicking straw out and making a mess in their nesting boxes, we decided to give nesting pads a try.

We are trying out Eaton Pet and Pasture nesting pads. They came in a box of ten and were easy to place in the nesting boxes. The girls can scratch and fluff as needed.

Hopefully this helps keep the contents in the box and the eggs a little cleaner.

I think the girls approve of the nesting pads 😉!

The Cemani Chalet is complete!

They are loving all the space.

We hope to hatch many more little Cemani chicks in this coop.
