What do you do when you are under tornado watch and the the power goes out? We rushed to get the meat chicks inside the cabin. Luckily we had a plan already set up for such an event. No heat lamps mean they get to spend the day/night inside in front of the wood stove😊 I don’t think they will mind a bit!

Most of you will understand our excitement on this sunny day… We picked up 4 more raised garden rings to go with the existing rings we have. We also picked up the remaining wood needed for our greenhouse base. Hoping to have all in place and in use very soon. Does our gardening hearts good to be almost finished with this project!

“What did you do on New Year’s?”they asked. We went to bed at 9 pm New Year’s Eve,then woke at 3:45am to process 6 extra roosters from our flock. After simmering all morning, and being placed in the canner, we now have a few jars of homemade chicken stock and some great cooked meat for our cats and dog to enjoy over the next couple of days. Nothing ever goes to waste!
