An Amazing 2026 Hartford Fair! 🐑

What an incredible 2026 Hartford Fair! There is so much to be proud of after a week filled with hard work, growth, and plenty of memories.

This was our first year showing market Pool lambs, alongside our usual breeding lambs, and I could not be more proud of all three of our exhibitors and the progress they made throughout the week.

Jacob Davenport finished 5th Place with his market pool lamb, showing tremendous improvement in showmanship. He also earned 5th Place with one of our bred-and-owned lambs.

Luke Davenport finished 6th Place with his market pool lamb, just outside of placing. He also earned 5th Place with one of our bred-and-owned lambs.

Nancy Conaway showed so much growth throughout her first year showing. She did a wonderful job in Senior Showmanship, and I think we can all agree that Gus was one of our favorite lambs to have around the barn this year!

This fair represented so much growth for McNichols Mountain Farm, not only in the show ring but as a farm as a whole. We are incredibly thankful to JDC Livestock for purchasing all three kids’ lambs and supporting our exhibitors.

A huge thank you to Julie Davenport as well. I truly could not have made it through the fair without you!

We are incredibly proud of this year’s accomplishments and excited to get back to work, continue improving, and see what next year brings. Thank you to everyone who supported McNichols Mountain Farm throughout the 2026 Hartford Fair! 🐑

A bit of a later update than usual, but what a fantastic breeding season it’s been here at McNichols Mountain. We’re thrilled to welcome 11 healthy new arrivals—6 ewes and 5 wethers. It’s been a joyful and rewarding year so far, and we’re excited to see what the rest of the season brings!
