So proud of our young talented team!

Yesterday our VA Junior girls team hosted interscholastic girls team for their very first I/I match! It was a great game for all the kids and ended in a tie. We are so happy to be able to support VA polo alumni Wynnie and Sybil as they continue to grow their program!!

Please note the important scheduling changes in the pictures. Most importantly the August 30 summer league game is canceled. Instead, Roseland Polo Club will be coming with horses and players on August 23. There will be two full 4 chukka games, one for our youth team and one for our adult club members. Our teams will be playing against teams from Roseland Polo Club (King Family Vineyard)! August 16 will be a 4 chukka match between our Little Hawks (youth) and Big Hawks (adults). Both the 16th and 23rd will be long fun nights of great polo with spectators welcome! All games start at 5.

GPC is so excited to be featured in Richmond BIZSense this morning. We are working hard to bring an exciting new equine opportunity to riders and spectators alike. Please come join us as a player or tailgater! Basic riding experience is recommended. Email [email protected] with any inquiries.

Our next game is this Saturday July 26 at 5pm. Get there a little early to set up chairs and hang out. BYO tailgaiting! If you can’t make it this week put August 16 and 30th at 5pm on your calendar.

The players at Goochland Polo Club have been hard at work prepping for our summer league games. Our practice chukkas are getting faster and more competitive by the week. Saturday night June 28 should be an exciting game!

The game starts at 5pm. Get there a little early to set up chairs and tailgates. BYO food and drinks or bring something to share at the communal tailgate table. There is a $10 entry fee per car.

Goochland Polo Club’s first summer league game on Saturday was a huge success despite the stormy weather. Our “Little Hawks” took on a group of our “Big Hawks.” It was a great competitive match up! We are always so impressed by how the “Little Hawks” step it up against adults and more experienced players, and for a couple of the “Big Hawks” it was their first ever match and in front of a big crowd no less! Our next match is June 28 at 5pm, come enjoy the show!

Spectators are welcome! It’s BYO tailgate and $10/car admission at the farm entrance please come with cash/check or Venmo. Also bring chairs to set up down by the arena if you would like.

It has been an exciting May at Goochland Polo Club. On May 4 or “Little Hawks” took on Roseland and Chesapeake middle school players in a round robin tournament. We were so proud of their amazing performance in their first ever away match! Our ponies put on a pretty good showing too.

We are now wrapping up a momentous new project to renovate our arena specifically for polo. It looks amazing and will rival the facilities at many existing polo clubs around the country. We will be forever grateful to our sponsors for believing in Goochland Polo Club and making this happen!

We expect an exciting summer season of tailgating and will post game dates very soon. Please come check us out!

The Goochland Polo Club “Little Hawks” had a successful game Friday night against local ringers team 1850/Island Polo. It was a great competitive game that ended in a tie. We are so proud of our girls who have only been playing for a few months and stepped it up to give some seasoned adults a run for their money. Of course, we were very proud of our string of amazing polo ponies for their performance as well! We had a great crowd of spectators and a good time was had by all. Interested in becoming a polo player? We still have spots in beginner lessons at 1pm on Wednesdays, 9:45am on Fridays, and 1 pm on Saturdays. Lessons can be scheduled on an individual basis also. Please reach out to [email protected] for lesson inquiries. Our summer league will be running May-September with weekly practices and 2 games per month. You can sign up for each month individually or the whole summer. Playing experience or a minimum of 3 lessons recommended for the summer league.

Virginia Polo kindly hosted the Goochland Polo Club Middle School team for their first ever match against coaches Meg, Sybil, and Wynnie. We all had a blast and could not be more proud of what great players these kids have become in only a few months of playing. Did you know that there are great opportunities to play polo competitively in Middle School, High School and then at the college level? There are currently college programs at UVA and Tech as well as many other great universities around the country. Goochland Polo Club currently has a middle school team with plans to have a high school team in the future.

Goochland Polo Club at Little Hawk farm hosted some early spring chukkas this weekend for local players. We have several awesome new ponies that we needed to try out and they all did great! Check out the action shots from today.

If you are interested in becoming a polo player come take some lessons with us! We offer weekly lessons at 1pm Wednesdays, 9:45am Friday, and 1pm Saturday. The first lesson is $100. Other times can be scheduled on an i dividual basis. Bring your boots and Helmet, we supply everything else.

We will be posting information about summer league opportunities in the next few weeks. To play in the summer league we will require a minimum of 3 lessons prior to the summer season unless you have previous playing experience. You may end up wanting a few more lessons than that before immersing yourself in this action packed sport. It’s a good time to start now!

We are also a very kid friendly program. We currently have a middle school team and would like to recruit players for a high school team as well. Get your kids started as young as 10years old! Prior riding experience is recommended.
