Scone announcement!!! 🫐

I know I said I was officially retiring the lemon blueberry scones for the year, but I do have a few extras left. I’ve added some to each bake day this week in case anyone wanted to grab a box. Any leftovers will come with me to this weekend’s market and then they will officially be off the menu until next April! Orders close tonight 💓

I know I said I’d only offer burger buns at the market, but I’ve genuinely been enjoying making them. They’re a labor of love for sure, but seeing them baked gives me a weird sense of baker’s satisfaction 😂

I can’t believe May is almost over, but a new month means new flavors are arriving at Redhead Bread & Bakery ✨

For all of June, I’ll be offering a Kalamata Olive & Thyme loaf. Briny olives, fragrant thyme, and naturally leavened sourdough are such a perfect combination. I already know I’ll be toasting this one up with feta and a drizzle of olive oil. 🫒

You’ll also spot a new seasonal scone flavor—Strawberry Rhubarb 🍓 These were my absolute favorite scones from last summer, and I’ve been counting down the days until I could bring them back. Strawberry rhubarb just feels like summer to me, and I’m so excited to share them with you all again.

As a reminder, next week is a market week! That means Wednesday’s menu will be fully stocked with all your favorite inclusion loaves, specialty flours, and more. Saturday’s menu will be a bit more limited as I prep for Sunday’s market bake.

📣 UPDATE 📣

If you saw me at the market on Sunday, there’s a good chance you’ve already heard about this change. Last year, I noticed at our markets that after being outside, the breads were getting lots of condensation in the bags. While I would love to use the same paper bags for all of my breads, I also want to make sure I’m giving you the freshest, highest quality bread I possibly can. To avoid condensation, I am switching over to micro perforated bags for all of our outdoor pickups and events.

If you’re getting bread from the Dole Mansion market, Sandy Oaks, or a Sandy Oaks pop-up, all artisan loaves will be in the new packaging. If you’d like me to include an extra paper bag in your order for you to switch your loaf to, please just make a note of it when checking out! Otherwise, you’ll want to switch to a ziploc or paper bag at home. Even better, my mom Joy’s Happy Beeswax Bags sells super handy beeswax bread bags that keep your loaf mold-free even longer, without the plastic. You can find these bags on her page, at our booth at the market, or at Kitchen Outfitters.

✨Redhead’s Signature Chocolate Chip Cookies✨

These are not your average chocolate chip cookie! Made with rich browned butter, freshly milled flour, and a touch of our sourdough starter, these cookies are packed with flavor and have the perfect balance of crisp edges and a soft, chewy center. Of course, they’ve been approved by (and HIGHLY requested by) my two favorite redheads. I hope to offer these once a month so grab them while you can! They’re currently on the menu for May 30th— orders will close Wednesday. 🍪💓
