We wish we were posting food pics and fun updates today… but real life won this round again...

Last week we dealt with a leaking pipe in the ceiling that had to be cut out and repaired. New roof went in over the weekend, and one downside of having an open ceiling in the restaurant is that the construction dust and odors traveled everywhere. We started cleaning today, but the smell from the roofing materials became overwhelming and caused headaches for our team.

We need to do a full deep clean inside and power wash the deck before we can open.

CLOSED Wednesday while we finish cleanup and air things out.

FINALLY - grits have arrived. We had to order half a pallet! Enough for almost a year!

Good day,
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get everything lined up. We’re holding off on sending the save-the-date until most of what we’re working on is wrapped up and everything currently in progress has come in.

On another note, we hosted a private party this past Sunday which is something we do offer, and it’s very affordable. We’re also hearing from many of our returning seasonal catering customers as they start planning, along with new inquiries for grad parties.

Dine-in traffic has been a bit slower than usual, and there are a lot of factors at play—weather, timing, and even us not posting as much or having everything available while we’ve been focused on getting things in place. We take responsibility for that and knew stepping back could have this effect. Our hope is that this is something we can control as we move forward and get our dine-in business back up to speed.

Just a reminder—it’s still only Char and me handling everything. It’s all very exciting, but it does make getting the save-the-date out a bit more challenging. Thanks for your patience as we keep things moving.

We have a new cook in training, stepping into the role of someone who was with us for many years. As a scratch kitchen, this is not an easy transition, and we appreciate your understanding especially on Thursday nights when he does not have the same level of support. That being said it is very important to us to know if anything comes out differently than what you’ve had before, please let us know so we can make it right.

We’ve been out of grits because the family business in North Carolina who sells them to us is shipping differently. We’ve made arrangements and committed to purchasing half a pallet, which is enough for about a year. We appreciate your patience while we worked through this.

Wondering if any of you regulars are painters. We are needing a little help and hoping we can trade for food. Please reach out via messages.
